Enjoy goodies galore with the latest Christmas offering from the eclectic lifestyle brand — bursting with skin, body and hair products to make your December mornings brighter
It’s that time of year again when we start to figure out our transitional wardrobes, post our summer round-ups on Instagram, and, of course, decide which luxury advent calendar we want to treat ourselves to. Yep, beauty advent calendars are back, and some big names have already dropped their iterations — from Liberty and Cult Beauty to Glossybox and ESPA.
Not one to miss the Christmas party, Anthropologie unveiled its own £88 design earlier this month, with 24 beauty items worth £300 tucked inside. That includes full- and travel-sized picks from a bunch of iconic brands, including Sunday Riley, Coco & Eve and Malin & Goetz.
But with so many calendars on the market right now, is this one worth your hard-earned cash? And are the products actually good — or are they more likely to be hidden away in the dark depths of your makeup drawer?

My honest review of Anthropologie’s Beauty Advent Calendar
First things first — the design. Anthropologie’s calendar sticks close to its eclectic aesthetic, with each door bearing retro-inspired illustrations, not of all of which are related to Christmas. It’s quirky, fun, and will happily complement any festive decorations, whether you prefer a traditional or rustic setup.
Quite a few calendars don’t stick to the classic 25-door option — Augustinus Bader and Bobbi Brown have 12-day offerings, for example — but Anthropologie goes all out with a hefty 24-day design. That means you can rest assured you’ll get a fun surprise up until December 25.
Products-wise, Anthropologie’s calendar offers a diverse range of beauty and haircare items. From the typical beauty items like a full-sized Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain Masque and UKLASH Lengthening Mascara to haircare essentials like The Big Silk Glow Shots Hair Oil Capsules and Mermade’s Mini Hair Styling Wax Stick, there’s something for everyone here.
However, there are some genuinely handy bits in there I’ve already incorporated into my daily routine. I was surprised to find a Malin & Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant — a necessity, but not something I was expecting in an advent calendar — and This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray has already taken pride in place on my bedside table.
I’d only note there are a lot of minis in this calendar — which is fair enough given the fairly reasonable £88 price tag, but I would have enjoyed a couple more full-sized bits. Saying that, though, they’re handy to pop into your handbag — especially the mini perfumes — and it’s a lovely chance to try some luxury items you wouldn’t have otherwise, such as Sunday Riley C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream, which retails for £60.
Speaking of which, I’ve found a new favourite perfume in the form of Outremer’s Eau De Toilette Vanille. I hadn’t come across the brand before but I’m absolutely obsessed with this travel-sized fragrance, which is packed with notes of sweet vanilla — so much so I’m tempted to buy a full-sized version.
Overall, though, this is a great calendar to consider for the upcoming festive season. It has lots of great beauty names inside, as well as some genuinely lovely gifts that you’re bound to use — or you can treat loved ones to any you don’t — and all for under £100.
Anthropologie’s Beauty Advent Calendar is available via the brand website, but if it’s slightly out of your budget, there are plenty of choices under £60. The Mirror team has rounded up all our favourites here, including PrettyLittleThing’s £55 offering and Makeup Revolution Advent Calendar for £48.
