This Dove Gradual Tan has been taking the internet by storm and you can currently pick it up on Amazon for half price after it was slashed to £4
As a fair-skinned individual, I never tan. Even with factor 50 sunscreen, I usually turn pink and then red after any sun exposure in the summer. Winter is even worse, as the dreary weather leaves me matching the palest foundation shades.
I’m not a huge fan of tanning mousse, particularly because it often leaves faint red streaks on my bedding. However, I’ve found a way to achieve the perfect summer glow in the middle of winter – without the dreaded orange bed sheets. The solution? A budget-friendly purchase from Amazon.

Priced at £4.25, Dove’s Summer Revived Gradual Tanning Lotion is significantly cheaper than my usual go-to tan. Bondi Sands’ tan costs nearly £18 when not on sale, so I was more than happy to switch, reports the Manchester Evening News.
I chose the light to medium bottle, not wanting to wake up looking like Ross from Friends. I decided to use the product for a week, applying it three times so as not to use it all at once.
During my first application, I noticed that it was incredibly easy to apply. It absorbed quickly and felt like soft butter on my skin. It’s also suitable for all skin types and has been dermatologically tested, leaving a very nourishing feeling. The scent was also heavenly.
Its luxuriously rich texture contains a formula enriched with caramel, and doesn’t smell like biscuits like Bondi Sands. I felt like I had enjoyed a spa day without leaving my front door.
Upon waking the next morning, I immediately noticed a change in my skin tone. The colour was natural and not overly orange, but most importantly, it was a sun-kissed, glowy tan with no streaks to be seen. I was genuinely impressed by how this moisturiser added a golden warmth to my complexion while also hydrating my fairly dry skin.
It takes about six hours to develop, so it’s best to apply before bedtime. Thankfully, any missed spots are easy to touch up. It began to fade after two days, so I reapplied another layer before bed. It hasn’t left any streaks on my pale limbs or my bedsheets yet. Top marks.
You can add more layers for a deeper colour, but you might want to choose the medium to dark product instead if a deeper shade is what you’re after. This is honestly the best gradual fake tan I’ve ever used. After a week, it essentially became a staple in my daily routine.
This product does exactly what it promises – a sun-kissed, natural tan without exposing your skin to harmful sun rays. It’s also a real confidence booster for those of us who are extremely pale.
Now, I don’t need to book a summer holiday abroad to achieve a deep, natural-looking tan. Amazon has it in stock in a bottle, and I’m off to purchase another one immediately.
