The lightweight hair dryer comes with three styling attachments and offers different speeds and temperatures

I’ve used the same hair dryer for over a decade, and while it has served me well, sometimes change can be good to show you what you’ve been missing out on. I was delighted when Bellissima’s brand-new hair dryer arrived on my doorstep, and it’s safe to say there’s no turning back.

As I was one of the first lucky people to put the Bellissima Italia Gemini Hair Dryer to the test, I didn’t quite know what to expect, other than that it has a quirky swivel handle and claims to be ‘three times more powerful’ than traditional hair dryers. It comes with a price tag of £199.99 and after using the gadget several times since it arrived, I think it’s worth every penny.

The 1400 W gadget offers speeds up to 110,000 rpm and has advanced digital temperature control with Ionic Technology that reduces frizz to give you smooth, silky strands. The hair dryer offers three speeds, three heat temperatures, a cool air shot button and a Memory Function, so you don’t have to reprogram it every time you use it.

I tried the viral hair styling tool that gives you a ‘salon-worthy’ bouncy blow dry rivalling Shark and Dyson

I opened PrettyLittleThing’s 2024 beauty advent calendar and was blown away by the products

When I opened the box, the sleek hair dryer and its three styling attachments – a concentrator nozzle, a narrow nozzle, and a diffuser – looked stunning, I couldn’t wait to wash my hair and put it to the test. I was surprised at how lightweight and slimline the hair dryer was when I first picked it up, and couldn’t get over how soft and comfortable it was to hold.

Another feature I was thrilled about is the impressive 2.5 metre cord, as it’s the longest I’ve seen on any styling tool. I’m used to having to twist in awkward positions while using my previous hair dryer as the cord is so short, but using the Bellissima gadget, I can comfortably sit at my dressing table facing the mirror and reach every strand of my hair.

Also included in the box is a cute bag to store everything in and a B cable clip to keep the cord looking tidy. My naturally straight hair isn’t thin or thick, it’s somewhere in between and usually takes around 10 to 15 minutes to dry with my basic hair dryer.

As I tend to wash my hair before work or bed, speed is essential for me, so my main hope was that the Bellissima Italia Gemini Hair Dryer would dry it quicker. The first time I used it, I didn’t attach any nozzle as this makes the airflow the most powerful. I blasted my hair without dividing it into sections and was amazed that it was bone dry in under five minutes – the quickest my hair has ever dried.

Not only did the speed impress me, I was thrilled with how smooth, soft and shiny my hair was, too, and there was no static which I sometimes get with my old hair dryer. Due to the quickness of the dryer and how light it is, my arm didn’t feel tired at all which was a pleasant surprise.

The next time I dried my hair using the Bellissima tool, I attached the concentrator nozzle and used a round hairbrush to curl the ends of my hair under. I used the hottest setting first and then set each strand using the cooling airflow mode which ensured it stayed in place and didn’t flick out as the day went on.

The only slight issue I found with the hair dryer is that the nozzle attachments can get very hot. After you’ve dried your hair with a nozzle, or are switching attachments in between drying, you need to let them cool down before removing them.

Another advantage of the quirky design of the hair dryer and the fact it’s so lightweight is that it’s perfect for taking on trips and holidays thanks to it folding into a slim shape. Since I received the Bellissima Italia Gemini Hair Dryer, I haven’t touched my old dryer and I’ve saved so much time getting ready.
