Beauty writer Lucy Addicott unboxed the Flanerie Beauty Advent Calendar 2025 and discovered hard-working, unique skincare ingredients
This time of year can feel a little hectic, what with Christmas around the corner and the year wrapping up, so for me it’s important to prioritise some self-care moments. In my opinion, a skincare routine is an amazing way to pamper, feel good and take a bit of time slowing down.
When it comes to building a skincare routine, this can take some time, however, I discovered a way to fast-track the process and save almost £500 while I was at it. Flanerie, a vegan and cruelty-free skincare brand, have released a beauty advent calendar for 2025 – named the 12 Days of Mindful Glow.
The beauty advent calendar is worth £563, but shoppers can snap it up for £64.80 when using the code MINDFUL10 at checkout. Investigating the advent calendar further, each product included has been chosen with a moment of pause and presence in mind, celebrating slowing down, embracing the now and enjoying life’s simple pleasures – just what I’m on the look-out for.
Having got my hands on the Flanerie Beauty Advent Calendar 2025, I was excited to give it a try as the brand specialise in products that they claim ‘turn everyday into self-care moments’. Praised for offering mindful skincare, Flanerie formulas blend science-backed actives with natural botanicals and plant-based ingredients.
When I first opened the box, I was struck by the pretty lilac packaging and delicate snowflake design. Mirroring the brand’s statement that the advent calendar is an invitation to slow-down and reconnect, I enjoyed that it wasn’t typical bright and festive prints. The understated and elegant design is spot-on for the feeling of calmness I wanted.

Among the highlights are the Vivifying Serum, Glow Facial Oil and Nourishing Lip Treatment, all packaged to turn every day of December into a moment of pampering.
Hidden inside each white box are a selection of some of the brand’s most cherished products, all crafted to ‘deliver visible results while offering a sensorial, ritualistic experience’, according to Flanerie. There are 12 products in total and shoppers can decide whether to open them at the beginning of December, at the end, or treat themselves to a box every other day.
I found the variation of items to be impressive, there’s everything from a sheet mask to a cleanser, lip treatment, serum, facial oil and more. However, while there is a night cream I would have appreciated the extra addition of a day moisturiser.
On a mission to make my evening skincare routine feel like a five-star spa experience, I unboxed all the doors to see how the products fared and I wasn’t disappointed. Now available for £64.80, I think it’s excellent value for money as each product comes in at essentially £5.40 each.
The names of the products really drew me in, with words like Water Lily PHA, Rustic Calm Peptides, Rose Spring Papaya and Midnight Rain Vitamin C, used. I wasn’t sure at first whether these titles referred to the ingredients inside, but was pleasantly surprised to discover many of them did.
As a beauty writer I’ve tried hundreds of skincare formulations before but can confidentially say I’ve never come across rose quartz before. Instantly intrigued by the Jasmine Sunset Rose Quartz Restorative Face & Eye Night Cream, I smoothed it over my face, finding it to have a creamy, lightweight and pleasant texture.
The rose quartz works to buff away dead skin cells and impurities to reveal soft, fresh and youthful skin. It also has light-reflective properties to help illuminate and boost radiance. Immediately after using, my skin felt smooth and soft to the touch and when I woke up in the morning my makeup applied flawlessly.
Elsewhere, Rodial are a skincare brand that utilises unusual ingredients such as dragon’s blood and bee venom. The Rodial 12 Days Advent Calendar retails for £97. For more botanical blends, the Liz Earle 12 Days Advent Calendar is £79 at Boots.
Another product that peaked my interest in the Flanerie Beauty Advent Calendar was the Rose Spring Papaya Instant Glow Splash Mask. The clever product is designed to be a base for all other skincare items, helping encourage absorption of vital ingredients. It does this by using papaya, orchid and moth bean. It felt very refreshing to use and gave me a lovely glow.
Individual products aside, I think the Flanerie items work wonderfully in union which is what in my opinion makes investing in the advent calendar such a worthy idea. The Flanerie skincare products have a subtle scent, that give a relaxing aroma when applied, definitely ticking my box for a self-care moment.
At under £65 with the code MINDFUL10, the Flanerie Beauty Advent Calendar for 2025 is a smart way to give any skincare routine a refresh, or try out products and unique ingredients that are brand favourites. For me, counting down December with a mindful treat each day is the best way to slow down and even better when there’s a whole new collection of toiletries to take into the next year at the end of it.
