Perfect for day to night styling, these affordable jeans tick many trend boxes, with shoppers claiming they’ve ‘hardly taken them off’
If there’s one denim trend that’s set to dominate in 2026, it’s indigo wash. And I think I’ve found the perfect pair of jeans for £35 on the high street to nail the look.
Deep, dark washes are making a confident return, cemented by Prada showcasing indigo denim for their Autumn 2025 show. As we all know from Miranda Priestly in – funnily enough – The Devil Wears Prada, that fashion trends often ‘show up in the collections of eight different designers’ before ‘filtering down through the department stores’. Thus, high street chains are currently flooded with indigo options.
At Next, shoppers have been raving about the Rinse Blue High Rise Stretch Wide Leg Jeans, and after trying them for myself, it’s not hard to see why. Flattering, comfortable and refreshingly affordable, they’re the perfect do-all denim trouser that will effortlessly take wearers from day to evening.
Retailing at £35, these jeans tick a surprising number of boxes. Crafted from a soft stretch denim made from 98% cotton, they’re designed to hug the waist and hips before falling into a relaxed, flared wide leg.
The high-rise cut defines the waist but also flatters the lower tummy, while the double button fastening makes them a little more interesting than your average jean, with an added sense of security.
Rinse Blue High Rise Stretch Wide Leg Jeans
Crafted from super-soft stretch denim, they are designed to hug and flatter the body before falling into a relaxed, flared wide leg. The stylish double button detailing and full-length finish make them a versatile choice for effortless day-to-night styling.
The deep hem finish is another standout detail. Chunky cuffs and turned up hems are also proving popular this season, but this is a smarter, more tailored alternative. The jeans come in a range of sizes from 6-22, as well as multiple leg lengths – far more than most retailers – with five options to choose from (petite to tall).
These jeans are very stretchy thanks to the 2% elastane content. Comfort-wise, that’s a winner, but for those who prefer a more sculpted, snug fit, sizing down is definitely worth considering. In hindsight, I probably could have done the same – though I found the regular length I chose was spot on, skimming the floor perfectly in flats, but working equally well for heels, too.
Another high-street favourite whose jeans I swear by is Marks and Spencer, having purchased several pairs of their wide-leg jeans in varying shades in the last few years. They cost £36 and currently come in five colours and five lengths in sizes 6-24. The authentic stretch denim is comfortable to wear but doesn’t feel like jeggings, allowing for that perfect balance between comfort and style.
Similarly priced is New Look’s Navy Adalae High Waisted Wide Leg Jeans at £34.99. One shopper said of the jeans: “I honestly love these jeans so much! After trying on what felt like five thousand different pairs from other brands, these are the only ones that actually fit me perfectly.”
Back at Next, several shoppers have praised their £35 jeans for their ‘super comfortable’ feel and have even purchased multiple pairs. One said: “I bought these a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing them at least twice a week. Super comfortable and great to dress up or down.”
Another agreed with me that they are on the larger side, commenting: “Beautiful jeans. Very generous in size! Stretchy material.”
“I love the fit of these jeans. Snug but comfortable,” wrote a third. “The longer leg option works for me. I had them delivered to a shop and delivery was really swift and easy.”
Some have mentioned that the leg length is on the longer side, too, with some even suggesting opting for a shorter length. They added: “Love these and have been wearing them ever since they arrived. They are very long so definitely go for the petite even if you are not petite unless you are particularly tall.”
“These jeans are a very flattering fit,” another shopper swooned. “I bought them in 12R, black. A size up than normal, only because I wanted them to be a little loser. They’ve washed and ironed well. Really soft and comfortable.”
Another review read: “Flattering, comfortable, nicely made and easy to wear – since I have bought them I’ve hardly taken them off. I even bought a pair in a different colour.”
These Next Rinse Blue High Rise Stretch Wide Leg Jeans will surely go with everything, making them a great wardrobe investment. Worn once a week, the cost per wear will be into the pennies within a year. And while I can’t attest to the longevity of them and how they wear over time, what I can say is that I would be happy to replace them at that price, should they happen to lose their sparkle after heavy usage.
