‘Tis the season for all things Halloween and pumpkin themed treats – and one coffee lover has shared her verdict on the best pumpkin spiced lattes to try this year
As the leaves start to fall on the ground and Halloween decorations go up in October, many of us can’t wait to cosy up with a blanket and watch a scary film, or enjoy a frosty autumn walk. But one thing that many delight in this time of year is the cinnamon and pumpkin-flavoured treats. Many coffee shops serve Halloween themed treats, chai lattes, but most popular of all is the pumpkin spiced latte. One coffee superfan has tried all the PSL’s available at coffee shop chains – and shared her verdict.
Emily Jade is a content creator, known for her honest reviews of new and viral food products. The lifestyle influencer, who boats 484K followers on TikTok, has raked in over 85,000 views in just one day after sharing her pumpkin spice lattes review.
She tried coffees from Greggs, Starbucks, Pret A Manger, Black Sheep Coffee and Dunkin. She insists there is a clear winner. Here’s what Emily thinks…
Starbucks
‘I’m an American living in the UK and there are four things I love about it’
She kicked off her review by trying an iced pumpkin spiced latte with pumpkin cream cold foam on top. “It is just so good,” Emily said after taking her first sip.
Explaining further, she added: “I feel like the balance of sweetness, spice and coffee is good. I’d probably give this like an 8.5 out of 10.”
Greggs
The coffee lover also opted for an iced version at Greggs. After giving it a good stir, she admitted: “I am honestly just getting coffee, I am not getting any spice at all.”
Noting it is not the first time she has tried a PSL from Greggs, Emily added: “I am really sad because the last one I tried was so good but I would have to give this one a 6.5 out of 10.”
Black Sheep Coffee
Emily was pleasantly surprised to discover that Black Sheep Coffee has their own version of this autumnal coffee.
After taking a sip of the iced pumpkin spiced latte, she said: “That is a really creamy coffee. It blends really well with the spices. I think I actually prefer this to the Starbucks one. I think I would give it a 9 out of 10.”
Pret A Manger
Emily also tried the iced pumpkin spiced latte from Pret A Manger. She shared her review, and said: “I am just getting a really milky coffee…it’s a good coffee but I’m getting no spice at all.”
She offered the drink a rating of 7/10.
Dunkin
Emily was disappointed when she ordered a cold pumpkin spiced latte from Dunkin and she was given a hot one.
She scrunched up her face after her first sip, and said: “That is so sweet…it’s really good though. If you love a sweet coffee, you will love this.
“I feel like you can still taste the coffee pretty strongly, but you are definitely getting a good spice level with it.”
She offered Dunkin’s version a score of 8/10.
The winner
Emily confirmed that her winner is Black Sheep Coffee’s pumpkin spiced latte. Concluding, Emily said: “My winner is Black Sheep Coffee. I genuinely think this is a really good pumpkin spiced latte. I’m loving Black Sheep Coffee at the moment.”
