If you’ve got a sweet tooth and are desperate to get your hands on the viral Marks and Spencer Easter eggs, then you may want to read on to see whether they’re worth it…
Everybody with a sweet tooth knows that Easter egg chocolate is far superior to its general round-the-year chocolate.
But it can be hard to know where to start when it comes to buying Easter eggs for people, as so many brands promise that theirs is the best that you’ll try.
However, it’s well-known that Marks and Spencer bring out amazing chocolate Easter treats each and every year. And this year, they’re struggling to keep certain ones in stock thanks to their popularity.
This year, they’ve got a pistachio option that’s constantly out of stock. They’ve also made filled eggs and have brought back some firm favourite character eggs. So, are they really worth the hype? I made it my mission to find out!
Chicky Choccy Egg, £7.50
This Easter egg comes with a bag of Chicky Choccy Speckled Eggs, which was a saving grace for the egg. There was just one problem – the actual egg itself tasted quite cheap to me. It was almost like the chocolate you’d get in a novelty cartoon character-style egg.
However, it was inoffensive, and the Chicky Choccy Speckled Eggs are like super-sized Cadbury’s Mini Eggs, so they were enjoyable. They make a good effort to try and outshine them.
Overall, I’d rate this egg 2.5/5.
Ralph the Cavapoo Easter Egg, £7
Ralph the Cavapoo is almost so cute that you can’t eat him (I said almost). When it comes to Easter eggs, I definitely prefer them a little more ‘plain,’ so this was right up my street.
This would be perfect for kids because it isn’t huge but has the unique selling point of being absolutely adorable. And there isn’t just a Cavapoo either – there are other cute characters available, so you could choose the one that your child would like the most.
This was definitely a winner for me, and while it didn’t taste as good as a plain Cadbury’s egg – in my opinion – it still delivered on deliciousness.
I’d rate this one 4.5/5.
Scrummy Bunny Munch Loaded Egg, £12
This is the most hyped Easter egg I’ve seen from M&S this year, and if you like super sweet things, you’re bound to be in chocolatey heaven.
This contains white chocolate popcorn, jelly pieces, chocolate eggs, and chocolate pretzels.
When it comes to the white chocolate popcorn, I’d definitely exercise caution, as I bit into a piece, and it had a really hard kernel in it, which wasn’t ideal.
I found this egg to have a little bit too much going on, and for my personal preference, it was a little bit sweet. But I reckon kids and those with a super sweet tooth will be huge fans! It reminded me a bit of Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations with the jelly.
I’d rate this one 3.5/5.
