The Sleep Intense Discovery Set includes four dreamy products designed to calm the mind and body

I’ve tried a few beauty and skincare products in the past that claim to help improve your sleep, however, few have made much of a difference. This was until I was sent a home spa kit to try, featuring a variety of dreamy products that promote a ‘restful sleep’.

The Spa Ceylon Sleep Intense Discovery Set arrived on my doorstep following a horrendous night’s sleep where I took what felt like an eternity to drift off and woke up hours before my alarm. To say the timing of the gift’s arrival was perfect would be an understatement.

I had never used Spa Ceylon products before, so I was intrigued to give them a try. The brand incorporates Ayurvedic Relaxation – an Indian tradition that uses a holistic approach to health and well-being.

The Sleep Intense Discovery Set costs £25 on Amazon and includes four travel-sized products designed to ‘take away daily stress’, ‘calm and clarify the mind and body’, and ‘promote a tranquil calm and restful sleep’. Recommended for an at home pamper session, the set includes the Relaxing Body Cleanser, Soothing Body Elixir, Dream Balm and Dream Essence Mist.

That night after receiving the kit, I took a shower before bed and lathered the Relaxing Body Cleanser all over. It’s enriched with neroli blossom, ylang ylang, lavender, and zesty orange, and contains organic aloe vera and honey that ‘gently cleanses, nourishes, and cools the entire body system’. The product felt so soft on my skin and wasn’t greasy like some cleansers can be. It also smelled gorgeous – I couldn’t wait to put my pyjamas on and curl up in bed.

Following my shower, I applied the Soothing Body Elixir on my arms and chest. Like the cleanser, this moisturising lotion contains neroli blossom, ylang ylang, lavender, and zesty orange, as well as virgin coconut, wheatgerm, and sweet almond that helps to ‘nourish and even out skin tone’. It also contains rice bran, soya, olive, and honey that ‘softens and protects against dryness’. The Elixir melted into my skin beautifully without feeling greasy, and it had the same dreamy scent as the cleanser.

Next up was the Dream Balm which I applied to my wrists and massaged into my temples, as recommended. The balm offers a ‘comforting blend’ of Ayurvedic herbs and essential oils, and aims to ‘hydrate, soothe, and ease the mind and body’ while promoting ‘overall well-being and dreamy, restful sleep’. I haven’t used a product like it before, and I think it’s my favourite item in the set – the smell is even more intense in this formula and when I woke up at one point in the night to turn over, I could still smell the delicious fragrance on my wrists.

Last but not least is the Dream Essence Mist which is described as a ‘cooling blend’ of neroli blossom, ylang ylang, lavender, and zesty orange. It has been infused with organic aloe vera and witch hazel which ‘tones and hydrates the skin while improving overall skin health’. I sprayed the lightweight mist on my arms, chest, pyjama top and on my pillows which made the calming scent fill my bedroom.

After applying all four products, I got into bed and did some relaxing yoga breathing which helped me to really inhale the soothing fragrances of the products and truly made me feel calm. I usually read for around 45 minutes before heading to the land of nod, however this night I only managed 15 minutes before my eyelids became super heavy.

I switched off my light and snuggled down – within minutes I was asleep, which is a rarity for me. Not only did I drift off much quicker than usual, I slept for a whopping nine hours. Considering I usually get on average seven hours a night, I couldn’t believe it. Of course, the fact I had a rubbish sleep the night before will have also been a factor in me having a glorious sleep, however I use the set most nights now and have experienced similar results.

I like how all four products can be used individually or all together to really pack a punch – they’re a match made in heaven. My only slight criticism would be the bottles that the cleanser and elixir lotion are housed in, as it can be tricky to get the product out. The cleanser is easier to remove as it’s a runnier consistency, but it still needs a shake to make it run out onto your hand. The elixir lotion, however, requires a lot of banging against your palm to remove it, and sometimes too much or too little comes out.

If you’d like to give the Spa Ceylon Sleep Intense Discovery Set a try for yourself, you can purchase it from Amazon here for £25. The retailer also sells a slightly pricier set which includes all of the above products plus a Calming Body Massage Serum and toiletry bag costing £45.
