A chocolate lover has bought a giant Easter egg for £160 to see whether it’s worth its hefty price tag, and he has given it a four-word review based on its taste and deisgn
A chocolate lover has put a £160 Easter egg through its paces to determine whether it justifies its eye-watering price, and delivered his verdict in just words. The giant Easter egg from Cocoba Chocolate tips the scales at a staggering 4kg and stands roughly 51cm tall.
Crafted by hand by the company’s “talented chocolatiers”, it promises to “leave your friends and family speechless as they admire its size in awe”. Assessing the colossal confection, Instagram user @bigdaddybsfoods remarked: “£160 4kg Easter Egg from @cocobachocolate. This was £100 two years ago so a £60 increase in two years during a cost of living crisis is wild.”
Throughout his Easter egg taste test, he commended the taste of the belgium chocolate – describing it as “milky, creamy, tasty and more-ish”. He also said the chocolate was really thick because of the size of the egg, but said that unless you’re sharing it with a large group – such as a family of ten – it’s a “bit of a gimmick”.
Nevertheless, he still awarded the egg a respectable 8/10 score for both taste and presentation.
Responding to his post, one follower commented: “I could get through that in a week.”
Someone else said: “You could melt that down and make loads of hot chocolates with that! Yummy!”
A third said: “Looks so yummy.”
Another follower added: “My toxic trait is that I would eat that in one day.”
Yet not everyone was sold on the idea, with some pointing out the egg might become somewhat tedious given it’s simply plain milk chocolate.
One follower observed: “It’s so big to just be plain. I think you’d get really bored of it.”
One critic questioned the steep cost, commenting: “8/10? We’re not taking price into account anymore? You could literally buy the mould and 10kg of nice chocolate and make your own for that.”
