A woman has revealed she manages to make ‘thousands’ a minute by dressing up as characters including an elf or a princess – and said ‘nerds’ love her content online
With so many different ways to make money, people are getting more creative than ever – and one woman’s unusual graft see’s her raking in millions. Evie Rees started out as a cam girl at 19, and now the 28-year-old has ventured into the world of cosplay – where she’s paid to dress up as an elf.
The content creator from the UK claimed she’s made over £1 million from her cosplay (‘costume play) content and can earn a staggering £2.8k in ‘minutes’. She revealed she spent the last nine years creating her brand and creating “quirky, nerdy and colourful” content online.
Cosplay is a perfomance type of art, and participants dress as characters with costume and makeup as well as other accessories. Now an award winning creator, Evie appeared on the series Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich where she opened up about her career.
The show explores how people around the country are earning fortunes in the adult industry and Evie is one of them who is making killing – as an elf or a princess. Not even having to leave her house to earn her money, Evie said “nerds” are the ones who love her content.
She told Olivia Attwood: “To me, most of the time I’d consider Cosplay being particular characters that you’re not. So being a superhero or being a Princess. Everybody loves the Elf thing. The pointy ears, the freckles, the cute forest outfits and stuff.”
So to make big money, the creator charges fans for custom requests – and while they’re not exclusive to that person. she’s still charging £1,400 a video. Evie added: “Exclusively, it’s usually just double [£2,800]. It’s that they want their name said loads throughout the video.”
Her income varies each month, but she said: “Over the course of my career, I’ve reached the £1 million mark.” Her fans are usually a mix, but she said it’s mostly men and revealed: “For the more intricate Cosplay, it’s more just the nerds. It’s mostly guys, but then, you’d be surprised by how many people are really, really into some of the aspects of dressing up.”
