A couple from Manchester has shared their simple trick on how they managed to earn over £1,500 in three weeks on Vinted as they made sure to focus on one crucial thing.

Couple Nick and Sarah from Manchester set themselves a goal to make £50,000 through side hustles between their 9-5 jobs in just 155 days. They’re focusing their spare time on flipping items and selling them for a profit, working as delivery drivers, starting a dropshipping business, and selling clothing items on Vinted, to name a few methods. They have then taken to social media to share their process of earning some extra cash.

In one video, Sarah revealed that they’d managed to earn over £1,500 in just three weeks by selling used items on Vinted, the second hand selling platform. She then went on to share her top tips on how to get items sold quickly.

Their secret? Knowing the most looked for items and brands on the app and taking advantage on that when finding new stock to sell in their Vinted store.

“Trainers are the fastest, especially New Balance,” Sarah said. “We actually picked up a new pair in a charity shop, sold for £20 and we bought for £5.”

She also said that other types of shoes, such as heels and Clarks were also one a high demand. As for clothing and other items, she’s found that the top brands that do well are also PLT, Zara, ASOS Design, Topshop, Mango, C.P. Company, and River Island. Sarah and Nick often go to charity shops to find cheap items from these brands they can then sell for a profit on Vinted.

“They all sold pretty much on the same day as listing,” she revealed, saying the post office had become their second home due to the amount of orders they’d been selling.

How to sell something quickly on Vinted

If you’re struggling to sell your items on Vinted, some sellers have shared their top tips on how you can increase your chances of getting the item more clicks, increasing the chances of it getting sold.

In a second video, Sarah shared the tops tips on how to get items to sell faster on the platform, with her first tip being to make sure your photos are high quality with good lighting to help show off the item better.

“If your photos are dark or yellow, trust me, nobody’s clicking,” she said, explaining that natural daylight is best, but that investing in a selfie light also could be a good option.

Next up, she urged people to use keywords in the description and title of the post, such as the brand name, size, colour, and overall ‘vibe’ of the item in question. Leading on to this, she also said that using AI tools to help write these captions could make it easier, as it can help you write the ‘perfect’ caption in seconds.

Finally, she also urged people to iron or steam the items before taking photos of them, claiming wrinkled clothes look more ‘cheap’ and won’t sell as easily.

“Fix these and watch your Vinted go off,” Sarah said.
