Frankie Stone, 23, from Bristol, has lost 4st on Mounjaro and is now in size 16
A woman who shed 4st on Mounjaro claims the weight loss injection “ruined” her Christmas as she could only stomach a can of Coke. Frankie Stone, 23, tipped the scales at 21 stone and wore a size 22 at her heaviest, turning to weight loss injections last December in a bid to slim down and boost her self-esteem.
However, the office assistant didn’t anticipate the impact Mounjaro would have on her festive celebrations. She found herself unable to eat much of her Christmas dinner – managing only a few bites – and, from the array of nibbles her mum prepared, she only craved a can of Coke.
Despite this, Frankie persevered with the injections and has since lost four stone, now weighing 16 stone and wearing a size 16. However, she’s not eagerly anticipating this year’s Christmas while on the jab.
Frankie, from Bristol, said: “It 100% affected my experience, everything around Christmas is food-related. My mum would bring all this stuff out and I just wouldn’t fancy anything.
“It was really weird; all I could manage was a can of Coke. I would usually be really excited about Christmas dinner, but I couldn’t really eat it.
“It was just a bit rubbish, because Christmas is all about food, especially when you’re an adult. It definitely ruined Christmas.”
Frankie suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which she says has made natural weight loss challenging. Before starting the injections, she struggled to lose weight, leaving her feeling frustrated and deflated.
Frankie had only just begun using Mounjaro in December 2024 when the Christmas period arrived. She was delighted to see her weight falling thanks to the injection and generally had a brilliant experience with Mounjaro, but hadn’t anticipated how significantly it would affect the festive celebrations.
On Christmas Day, Frankie and her relatives went out for a meal and, whilst everyone else was tucking into delicious food, she found herself unable to complete her plate. Following this experience, she chose to stop the injections for a week during a holiday to Turkey in September 2025 so she could savour the cuisine. However, she reported that this resulted in dreadful side effects, including anxiety and sleeplessness.
Frankie explained: “I went to Turkey and I took a week’s break and I was up all night, l couldn’t sleep, I was really anxious, my heart was racing. It was really weird, there were so many strange side effects for not taking it.”
She opted to resume the injections a month afterwards and has since shed four stone. She has chosen to carry on taking them this December as the side effects are worse than her reduced enjoyment.
Frankie mentioned that when she had previously halted the jabs for her getaway, it took a month for her appetite to return. Therefore, anyone wanting to have their appetite restored by Christmas would have needed to cease injecting at the end of November.
Despite her less-than-ideal experience over the festive season, Frankie, who has recently launched her own cleaning business named Sparkle by F&P, shared that she’s trying to see the silver lining and isn’t too bothered as she’s shedding pounds.
“Before taking the jabs I was just fed up,” she confessed. “I was at a low and I’d put on loads of weight due to my PCOS.
“I just thought something needs to help me. Mounjaro just blocks all those food noises out. It doesn’t make you struggle anymore, and I’ve lost four stone so far.”
Frankie described her experience with the jabs as largely positive, although she has experienced several side effects like many others.
She explained: “It gives me headaches and dizziness and it’s triggered anxiety in me, which I’ve never had before. I had a panic attack once, which I had to go to hospital about. I think a lot of it is just in your head though, because you think, ‘oh my god, what am I putting into my body?'”.
