B&M’s stylish and cosy £29 outfit keeps me so warm without heating on – I’ve saved a fortune on gas and electricity bills

I despise feeling chilly, and with the recent drop in temperature, I’ve been bundling up in multiple layers to keep warm. I’m also hesitant to switch on my heating just yet, as I don’t want to overspend on bills – particularly since I only moved into my new home a few months back.

In an effort to save some pennies, I’ve taken to wandering around the house wrapped in blankets and using our small electric heater sparingly instead of turning the central heating on. Nothing is worse than being cold in your home, and being desk-bound for work doesn’t help matters.

Martin Lewis once said: “Heat yourself, not your home.” This is an ideal way to stay warm indoors without unnecessarily paying hefty household bills. Following the Money Saving Expert founder’s advice, I searched for thermal clothes I could wear around the house.

I was thrilled to discover B&M’s new and affordable ‘winter warmers’ range. The store offers a cosy solution without worrying about hefty gas and electricity bills.

The bargain retailer has dedicated an entire aisle to The Cosy Club Co. This collection features a variety of soft, comfy and affordable items that beckon you to curl up on the sofa with a good book as autumn sets in.

I didn’t think twice when I spotted B&M’s new Thermal Sherpa Lined Fleece Top priced at just £14. It came in several colours and sizes – including a funky Aztec print, a black abstract design and a few animal-themed options, reports Lancs Live.

I opted for a plain, small cream option that I could comfortably wear around the house and even to the local shop in. Trust me, I’ve barely taken it off, I have even kept it on during my work conference calls.

It’s so cosy that I’ve dozed off in it more than once. Plus, it boasts a chic half zip and two spacious pockets, perfect for stashing my phone, keys, headphones, purse and more.

I also couldn’t resist B&M’s tan Snuggle Slippers for £8. The box promises “pure warmth and comfort”, and I can vouch for that.

They’re a dead ringer for pricey Ugg clog slippers, in my opinion, and are fully lined with faux fur. The moment I slip my feet out of them, I feel the chill and can’t wait to put them back on.

Together, the slippers and fleece set me back just £22, making them an ideal Christmas gift. If you’re hunting for a simple stocking filler, they could be just the ticket, particularly for anyone who spends a lot of time at home.

I also snapped up a pair of B&M’s Thermal Brushed Leggings for £7. With a 1.8 tog rating, plush lining throughout, and plenty of stretch, they’re incredibly comfortable.

Wearing all three items feels like having the heating on without actually switching it on – I reckon I’ve already saved a fortune.
