As a seasoned broadband deal hunter for both myself and readers, I’ve observed that the competition in broadband pricing has heated up in recent months. Big players like Sky, Vodafone, and others have been rolling out enticing offers such as contract buyouts, £1-a-month deals, and complimentary gift cards – and now it appears Virgin Media is stepping into the ring.

Virgin Media has just revealed an exceptional offer on its broadband bundles, slashing prices to what they’re calling their ‘lowest ever’ for a limited time only. The broadband and TV provider has reduced the price of its M500 broadband package to a very competitive £27.99 – a real bargain.

Not stopping there, it’s also reduced the cost of its Gig1 package to a mere £29.99 a month – another substantial price drop for lightning-fast speeds ideal for gamers and 4K video streamers. This is one of the most budget-friendly prices it has put forward in quite some time, giving Sky and other broadband providers a run for their money.

To put it into perspective, Sky charges £31 per month for its 500Mbps package and £40 per month for its 900Mbps package, making Virgin’s offer significantly cheaper. It also undercuts EE, Vodafone and Plusnet in price.

For households living in an area with access to Virgin Media, this deal is definitely worth considering for speedy and dependable broadband, as Wales Online reports. Virgin Media is also throwing in Netflix for free, and its Wi-Fi Guarantee – part of the Gig1 package – promises strong and reliable broadband in every room or your money back.

Virgin Media has cut the price of its broadband packages including the M500 and Gig1 contracts.

The Netflix inclusion has proved a popular benefit to compete with Sky, and it’s now on offer to Virgin customers. However, please note that these packages are accompanied by a 24-month broadband contract, and prices will increase annually by £4.

For those who only want broadband, Hyperoptic might be an excellent choice. Customers can get broadband for as little as £26 per month on a 24-month contract. It also allows customers to tailor the contract length according to their needs.

As mentioned earlier, Sky is presently offering some of its most attractive prices on slower broadband packages – perfect for households that don’t need ultra-fast connections, with tariffs starting at £25 monthly.

USwitch reviewed Virgin Media’s broadband offerings and gave a positive verdict. It stated: “Virgin Media is a very good option for any household that uses the internet a lot. However, if you live in a smaller household and you only really use the internet to scroll on social media or stream the odd show, Virgin’s offerings are maybe more than you need.

“You could pay a lot less for a much simpler package that delivers everything you need from your broadband deal. Plus, a broadband connection on the Openreach network might be a bit more reliable and consistent than Virgin Media’s network.

“So you might have a smoother experience with providers that use Openreach, such as BT, Sky, Plusnet, TalkTalk or NOW Broadband.”
