However, there are other services that can be streamed for free, as users can access thousands of free films and TV episodes from ad-supported apps like Twitch and Pluto TV. Those looking to get into gaming may be in luck as well, as being one of the only devices that supports the Xbox app, buyers can stream games on the device with no console required, Amazon says.

Some shoppers left feedback, however, as one found the supplied cable was slightly short. They said: “It was quick to set up and I needed an extension to reach my socket. The cable supplied is a bit on the short side. The HDMI extension isn’t the most useful but can be depending on the HDMI ports on your TV or monitor. Overall the picture and sound are fantastic and (it’s) very easy to navigate (the) menu. The remote is compact and just perfect, the quality of the product is excellent. Very pleased with the purchase.”

Another said: “It’s a good device and it does what it says on the tin. It was good for our spare TV, which has a poor Wi-Fi connection for streaming. My main gripe, though, is that in the year of our lord 2025, they are still using micro-USB for the power supply.”
