Business Wednesday, Jan 28

The home of Marvel and Star Wars is offering a discounted subscription for three months but it’s ending on Wednesday.

Disney fans have hours left to secure a cheaper subscription as the streamer’s flash sale is coming to an end. Disney+ is currently offering new and returning subscribers with a Disney+ subscription for £3.99.

However, they only have until 11.59pm tonight (January 28) to get the deal. Doing so will lock in the reduced rate for three months and grant complete access to countless Disney productions from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and much more.

With the deal, Disney+ has become the most affordable streamer when compared to the basic packages of Netflix (£5.99), Prime Video (£5.99) and Apple TV (£9.99). A caveat is that the offer applies to the Standard with Ads package, though there are also reductions on the ad-free Disney+ Standard for £6.99 (was £9.99) and Disney+ Premium for £9.99 (was £14.99).

This delivers savings up to £15 depending on the bundle, compared to the standard monthly charges. To secure the promotion, customers can sign up here before the January 28 deadline.

Those choosing the Standard packages can stream in 1080p Full HD on two devices at once. The premium tier delivers 4K UHD and HDR on four devices and support for Dolby Atmos sound.

Disney+ has slashed its subscription price to £3.99 per month for three months on the Standard with Ads plan. It’s also offering the Standard plan for £6.99 and Premium plan for £9.99, but the deals expire on January 28.

Standard and Premium subscribers can also download material to watch whilst travelling without consuming their mobile data, reports the Liverpool Echo. This comes as Disney+ has revealed a jam-packed line-up of new and returning series this year.

Ryan Murphy’s latest body horror, The Beauty, is surging to the platform’s top position following its launch last week. It joins new offerings including Tell Me Lies season three, TRON: Ares and Marvel’s Wonder Man.

Set to arrive in the coming weeks and months are the return of Paradise (February 23), Daredevil: Born Again (March 24), Rivals (TBC) and The Bear (TBC). Also heading our way are The Handmaid’s Tale spin-off The Testaments (April 8) and Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair (April 10).

After the three-month promotional period, the Disney+ subscription will automatically renew at the then-current monthly price until cancelled. This means customers don’t need to make a long-term commitment to secure the cheaper rate.

It comes as Sky’s own January sale enters its final stages, with reduced TV packages such as £35 Essential TV, Netflix and 300Mbps Full Fibre Broadband expiring on February 3. This comes before the February 11 end date of the £4.25 Sky Glass Air deal.
