Five people were rushed to hospital after a horror crash in Scotland this morning.

The incident, which involved a head-on collision between two vehicles, took place on the A914 near Kettlebridge just before 7am. Emergency services attended the crash and took several victims to hospital for treatment. The road was temporarily closed while the wreckage was cleared, and the current condition of those involved remains unknown.

Harrowing images show the huge emergency response including several ambulances and police on the country road outside Cupar and the bonnet of one red vehicle totally smashed up. Police and the Scottish Fire Services were also present.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said they left the scene shortly before 8am, reports Daily Record.

“We received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A914 near Kettlebridge at 6.58am. We sent two appliances, one from Cupar and another from Glenrothes, to assist police and ambulance. There are five casualties. We left the scene at 7.50am.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.35am on Sunday, 29 September 2024, we were called to a report of a two-vehicle road crash on Cupar Road, Kettlebridge. Five people were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the crash. The road reopened at 12.25pm. Enquiries are ongoing.”
