Three men have reportedly suffered injuries after a police chase through a busy city road ended in a crash

A horror car crash which left two men trapped in their cars occurred just after a police chase through a busy city road in Bradford.

Three men are said to have been injured in the crash which took place just after midnight on Saturday.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Leeds Road after police said a Volkswagen Golf failed to stop and collided with a Skoda after attempting to flee.

The collision left two men, a man from each vehicle, trapped inside with firefighters deployed to cut them free. The driver of the Skoda is being treated for a leg injury while two other men in the Golf are said to be hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two cars were involved with one person trapped in each vehicle.

“An extrication was carried out by fire service personnel and casualties transferred to hospital by ambulance.

“Two appliances from Bradford attended.”

West Yorkshire Police added: “At 12.23am this morning (April 11) a vehicle failed to stop for police on Leeds Road in Bradford.

“The vehicle, a Golf, was then immediately involved in a road collision with a Skoda.

“Two men in the Golf were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the man in the Skoda was treated in hospital for a leg injury.

“Enquiries remain ongoing by the Roads Policing Unit.”
