The discount retailer posted the UK-wide reminder to all of its customers online

Home Bargains has made a UK-wide announcement that risks irritating some of its shoppers; however, most were keen to embrace the news. The discount store is known for having plenty of affordable items perfect for almost any occasion.

Recently, people have been complaining about shops in general, which have been putting out their seasonal decorations with months to go before the big days themselves. However, the latest announcement from the chain should put things into perspective for the nation.

In an Instagram post, a spokesperson for Home Bargains said: “At the risk of upsetting a few…” It goes alongside a picture that said (as of September 16) it was 100 days to go until Christmas.

Whilst time stops for nobody, people were divided over the realisation that we now have less than 100 days left in 2025. One said: “I love Christmas – I’m excited. Best time of the year!”

Another said: “THIS is the type of content I need to see!” A third commented: “Absolutely here for it!”

Someone else put: “If you were posting this in spring then I would be questioning it, but it is September so go ahead!” And, one more wrote: “Not soon enough!”

It comes not long after the discount shop made another festive announcement that shouldn’t come as a major surprise to many of its fans. The store confirmed that, alongside closing up for Christmas Day this year, all of its branches would, for another year, stay shut on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

This month, Home Bargains shoppers have been able to browse some of the new and returning items in the lead-up to December 25. From September 1, just as the calendar officially turned from summer to autumn, shoppers spotted decorations adorning parts of the aisles.

Once Halloween has passed, more items are expected to be introduced to stores for shoppers. The festive range was revealed in July, so customers can start shopping early this year and spread the cost of getting ready for Christmas.

Despite the excitement, some items might already be worth avoiding. We spotted a festive £1.29 cup that had returned to Home Bargains from 2024. It featured a major mistake then, and that problem still hasn’t changed in 2025.

Customers can also find a massive selection of Christmas items on the Home Bargains website. Some products can be ordered online for delivery, while others are exclusively available for purchase in-store.
