People were quick to fall in love with the ‘gorgeous’ seat that has a clever feature

Furniture from Home Bargains has become very popular among homeowners in 2026 who want to give their homes a quick New Year refresh without spending a fortune on redecorating. One of the newest items to land on shelves has some fans of the discount store “obsessed”.

Describing the stool online, a Home Bargains boss said: “Add a touch of texture and charm to your space with the Home Collections Swirl Storage Stool. Wrapped in soft boucle fabric with a beautifully sculpted swirl design, this stylish stool doubles as both décor and clever storage.

“Simply lift the cushioned lid to reveal a roomy interior, perfect for hiding away blankets, accessories, or everyday clutter while keeping your home looking effortlessly tidy. Ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, or cosy nooks, it’s a functional statement piece that elevates any room.”

The stool stands at around 42cm tall, offering a hollow centre to practically stash items out of sight. There is a non-swirl boucle version available here at Home Bargains for the same price (£19.99).

People were quick to share their reaction to the online post, with one shopper comparing the boucle stool to a “marshmallow”, whilst others said they were simply “obsessed” with the look. A third shopper said the items highlighted online were “beautiful”, whilst another shared: “Just ordered one! So gorgeous!”

There are lots of similar versions to the Home Bargains stool online, including some close matches that cost almost ten times the price. Amazon is selling a Get Set Style Modern Round Ottoman with Soft Padded Seat online for £202.

At the time of writing, the Swirl Storage Stool is not available for online home delivery. Shoppers have the option of signing up for email alerts to be told the second that more stock arrives.

In other Home Bargains news, shoppers are quickly coming around to the idea of picking up furniture from the high street store that might look just like some more expensive options. Lots of these items are appearing online, and not everything will be available in physical stores.

For example, there is the £19.99 Home Collections Nest of Tables that some could argue has a strong resemblance to a pricier version. Our shopping writer believed that the affordable set could pass for Picture Perfect Home’s set of two Industrial Black Metal Nesting Side Tables, which are currently on sale for £156.95, reduced from £219.

Elsewhere, these TikTok users claimed a discounted storage unit from Home Bargains was “better than a lookalike one at IKEA” . The bargain store’s Kids Edit 6 Drawer Toy Storage Unit was praised for being cheaper than the £76 flatpack unit.
