As Britain braces for a May cold snap, shoppers are rushing to grab heated throws. Debenhams has slashed the price of a top-rated Slumberdown luxury electric blanket by 64%, now starting at just £27.

The sunny days of April are, unfortunately, a thing of the past for us Brits. We’ve been warned to brace for an unseasonable cold snap as forecasts show minimum temperatures dropping below freezing again.

The long range weather forecast from the Met Office said, for the period from Monday May 11 to Wednesday May 20, that conditions would be “changeable and at times rather unsettled through the middle part of May.”

This means periods of rain or showers and, for the most part, temperatures are likely to be close to or perhaps a little below normal. With news of a cold snap on the way, people are getting their heated throws out of storage to cosy up before summer, and luckily, one four-star rated item has been reduced significantly in the sale.

The Slumberdown Elegantly Warm Luxury Electric Blanket Heated Throw is now over £50 off at Debenhams, saving you a whopping 64%. It was £78.50, now it’s just £27.96 and it comes in three colours: Charcoal, Green and Brown. The green shade is the cheapest at £27, while the other colours are just £1 more at £28.

With 10 temperature settings and hourly timer settings, this Elegantly Warm Luxury Electric Blanket Heated Throw from Slumberdown allows you to personalise your warmth exactly to your comfort levels, while wrapped up in its luxuriously super soft faux mink fleece.

Dreamland have also slashed the price of their Snuggle Up Electric Warming Throw, it was £70 and now it’s just £49.99. Shoppers said this heated throw was “good value”, with others “highly recommending” it thanks to how quickly it heats up.

“Delighted with my purchase,” a happy shopper wrote. “Lovely and soft and a good size and weight. It heats up quickly and the controls are straightforward. Good value too!!”

Elsewhere at Dunelm, the 4.5 star rated Carmen Fleece Electric Over Blanket is just £48. It comes with overheat protection for added safety to protect you and your home.

Back at Debenhams, the shoppers love the Elegantly Warm Luxury Electric Blanket Heated Throw, with one writing: “It’s a really good product. I use it during the day on a small setting when working from home and on a high setting on an evening! Keeps me warm and comfortable.”

Another added: “Lovely super soft faux fur heated blanket, really warm, easy to use. Quick Delivery.”

However, not everyone was a fan. One unhappy customer noted a timer fault with their product, writing: “Faulty control on the blanket in that I cannot use the timer due to the fault. I decided to stay with it as it is a lovely soft blanket but just make sure not to fall asleep with it on!!”
