Gtech is offering a big discount for Brits looking to spruce up their garden with its GT50 cordless grass trimmer that’s hailed as ‘excellent value for money’.

With much of the UK basking in yet another heatwave, there’s no better time to ensure our gardens are looking spick and span. Luckily, Gtech has just kicked off a summer sale offering its GT50 Cordless Grass Trimmer at more than half price.

By entering the discount code JV85 at checkout, the garden gadget can be reduced from £149.99 to £69.99 – an £80 saving. There’s also a huge £300 discount on Gtech’s CLM50 Cordless Lawnmower, which drops from £599.99 to £299.99 with the code JA57.

However, both deals are running for a limited time and will expire on September 30. The Gtech GT50 Cordless Grass Trimmer is said to trim and edge a lawn ‘to perfection’ thanks to its sharp plastic blades that ensure a neat cut and fresh edges.

Unlike corded garden tools, the Gtech GT50 can be used without troublesome cables, with its 18V lithium-ion battery providing up to 30 minutes of runtime per charge. The lightweight tool has been designed to make trimming easier, weighing only 1.85kg and crafted with an ergonomic handle that takes the stress off the shoulders, neck and back.

Gtech has also added a safety harness to the trimmer, so users can move comfortably and efficiently around their garden while enjoying total control and precision. This is made even easier with a swivel of the GT50’s head, which can be switched from trimming mode to edging mode and adjusted to different angles at the push of a button.

Gtech is offering its GT50 Cordless Grass Trimmer at more than half price with the code JV85.

What sets the GT50 apart from many rival models is its plastic, replaceable blades, which clip on quickly and easily. Shoppers will receive 20 blades with the device, with a pack of 50 costing £3.99 should more be required.

For gardeners requiring a tool to neaten their hedges, the Bosch 55cm Cordless Hedge Trimmer (£185) can cut branch thicknesses of up to 20mm, but may not be suitable for cutting grass. An alternative is the Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP Cordless Whisper Grass Trimmer (£149.99), however, the battery and charger are not included with this tool and must be bought separately.

For those sticking with Gtech, the GT50 Cordless Grass Trimmer has achieved a 4.4-star rating after more than 3,500 reviews. Buyers have hailed it as ‘easy to use’ and ‘very effective’ at cutting longer grass.

One five-star review says: “Easy to use and control, very effective cutting and can deal with longer grass. Quick to get out into the garden and start using because little assembly is needed. Very well engineered, solid yet lightweight. An excellent product.”

Another said: “This product, along with all other Gtech products we have purchased, is excellent value for money. It is lightweight, strong and precise, streets ahead of all of its competitors.”

In their four-star review, this buyer offered a word of advice to other gardeners, saying: “Nice looking trimmer but the blades break easily when you touch something solid.”

While a third rave review said: “Very pleased with the GT50, it is a big step up from the previous model, which served us well for many years. In particular, the power seems much greater, and we can get through tougher vegetation that we would not have considered tackling before.”
