“The longer blade on the HT50 came about through our own engineers’ home testing,” founder Nick Grey said on the website. “We recognised that if you could cut more area at once, you’d spend less time working and have more time to enjoy your garden – ideal!”
The electric trimmer has an extended run time in comparison to previous models, offering 60 minutes use on one charge. Although it is lightweight (2.9kg), it has a strong 18 volt motor and can be carried easily thanks to its integrated shoulder strap harness. It also comes with a safety switch on the side of the handle for any emergencies.

It also prevents an accidents happening as it features a 50cm blade – 50% longer than their previous model – that can reach up to over 10 foot, reducing the need for ladders or steps.

The longer length Gtech trimmer has a high 4.6 out of 5 star rating from almost 4,000 reviews on the website, however. One person said: “Wow what a great trimmer! It has paid for itself in just one outing, having trimmed my hedge better than any of the previous paid firms did. I intend to use it regularly to keep the hedge in tip-top condition and at no further cost.”

Another said: “Great bit of kit, does the job perfectly. The only down side it is a little unwieldy with the weight of the cutting blades having to be being high up, hence the need for the strap to go around one’s shoulder. Would definitely recommend.”
