Greggs has released its first set of official Christmas cards, with options to customise and send one for less than £1. Each of these festive cards includes the perfect early gift for any fan of the popular bakery chain.

The collection – called the Ultimate Secret Santa Surprise – features a £3.95 card with heat-activated ink that, when warmed up, reveals a code to claim a free sausage roll or vegan sausage roll from one of the 2,675 Greggs’ locations across the UK. The cards offer the option to customise some of the designs, such as incorporating a loved one’s face into a sausage roll.

The range, exclusively available on Moonpig, comes in various styles and prices, which start from 99p. This option is a digital e-card that can be sent to the recipient instantly.

Physical cards can be purchased starting from £3.99, with larger options on offer, including an A4-sized card for £6.99 and an almost A3-sized giant card for £9.99. Shoppers can get cards sent to themselves or straight to the person they’re buying for. See Moonpig’s website for details on postage.

Some cards allow for personalisation of the design, such as adding a superfan’s face to the iconic baked good. All cards can include a message inside, saving people the trouble of handwriting their festive greetings, reports Chronicle Live.

Hannah Squirrell, customer director at Greggs, said: “We’re all about bringing a smile to people’s faces, and what better way to do that at Christmas than with a card that comes with a tasty treat? Partnering with Moonpig means fans can now send festive wishes with a Greggs twist – whether it’s a laugh for your Secret Santa or a surprise for someone who’s tricky to shop for, our exclusive collection with Moonpig offers a fun way to say ‘Merry Christmas’… and yes, there’s a free sausage roll in it too.”

Rachael Halliday, Moonpig UK marketing director, added: “By teaming up with Greggs, we’re giving people a fun, thoughtful and easy way to show they care – because sometimes the smallest gestures, like a personalised card with a little treat inside, make the biggest impact.”

Shoppers can get personalised cards delivered before Christmas from other online retailers such as Funky Pigeon or Snapfish. However, these Greggs cards featuring a free sausage roll are exclusive to Moonpig.

As of December 1, no customer feedback has been posted for any of these greeting cards, as the Moonpig site does not offer that function. But Moonpig, as a business, has a range of five-star reviews on Trustpilot.

One customer said: “Have used Moonpig for a long time and they have never let me down!” Another reviewer wrote: “I wanted a personalised Christmas card to send to family in Australia and Moonpig have a wonderful selection. The whole online process was very straightforward.”

A third put: “Great choice of cards for Christmas and very efficient service. I would highly recommend Moonpig cards for all occasions.” Yet, not everyone was pleased with their experience, as a few customers claimed that delivery was “delayed”, despite having paid for and selected a specific delivery date.

Another unhappy shopper claimed: “Didn’t deliver on day despite paying for 24-hour tracked delivery. Save yourself some money – just buy a card, pop a stamp on it, and let it take a chance with the postal system.”

Got your Moonpig card? This is

Moonpig’s website explains under the product description for all Greggs’ cards: “Once you’ve received your Moonpig x Greggs card, we’ll email your free sausage roll voucher within two days. If you’re buying more than one, you’ll receive separate emails with up to three vouchers – perfect for passing on a little warm, flaky joy to whoever you’ve got in Secret Santa!”.
