Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has been spotted in the same pair of ‘smart’ trousers twice in the last few weeks, and it’s easy to see why she’s such a fan of the style

When you find a workwear staple that’s as comfortable as it is stylish, you’ll want to get it in every colour available. And that’s exactly what Susanna Reid has done with a pair of ‘ smart’ Boden trousers for her presenting gig at GMB.

The 53-year-old loves her Westbourne Ponte Trousers so much that she’s worn them in two different colourways in the last fortnight. And we can’t blame her, as they seem to be the kind of style that goes with everything.

Last Monday, the mum-of-three wore the chic trousers in navy with a red stripe as she appeared on This Morning with Cat Deeley, Ben Shepherd and her co-host Richard Madeley to celebrate 10 years of the breakfast programme. She styled them with a pink Boden pussybow blouse – a signature style of Susanna’s – and some Converse trainers, before switching the top out for a red blouse.

Then, on Wednesday’s episode of GMB, clearly a fan of the style, the presenter opted for the reverse colourway. She wore the red trousers with navy side stripe with a navy blouse and wedge sandals, showcasing just how versatile the trousers are.

Coming in at £85, the trousers feature a ‘flattering’ wide-leg shape with front-pressed creases that give them a smart, office-ready look. They’re available in sizes 4-22, with three lengths to choose from, so you can find your perfect size no matter if you’re taller or more petite.

Also available in shades of ‘winter green’ and ‘hot pepper’, the trousers have received high praise from shoppers, who say they’re as comfortable as wearing loungewear. One five-star review read: “I was looking for red trousers and these fit the bill brilliantly. The colour was perfect as was the fit and the quality. Will buy again in a different colour…”

Another added: “Love these trousers so much. They look smart for work but feel like trackies. They’re so soft and stretchy but still thick and flattering.”

“Perfect stretch and length as I’m 5’6. I absolutely love these trousers and think they fit great,” wrote a third. “I really love how stretchy the waist is as well since it means I can have a full lunch without needing to unbutton them. The navy and coral red stripe make them look a bit like a marching band outfit but they’re too comfy to return.”

With a fourth adding: “Very comfortable and fit true to size they are also super flattering and I can’t wait to wear them!” However, some have said that the sizing can be a little bit ‘off’, with one shopper adding: “These trousers run very large, so size down! I’m 5ft 7″ and ordered a size 8L + 10R. They were not that different in length, both of them are definitely wider than the old versions of the ponte trousers.”

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxed, these River Island Red Side Stripe Wide Leg Joggers boast a similar silhouette and style for £40, but instead of a smart waist, feature drawstring fastening and come in five other colours. Meanwhile M&S has these Jersey Side Stripe Wide Leg Trousers for £35, and while they don’t come in quite as many colours, they’ve got hundreds of five-star reviews from shoppers.
