Firefighters have warned people to avoid an area this morning following a blaze at a recycling centre.
People in and around Moreton Valence, just south of Gloucester, must close their doors and windows due to the smoke. Drivers should refrain from using the A38 in and out of the cathedral city and instead use routes further north.
A statement from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service reads: “We are currently in attendance at Smith’s recycling centre in Moreton Valence. We advise the public to avoid the A38 towards Moreton Valence at this time due to smoke in the area, we would also advise anyone who lives in the area to close their windows and doors.”
The Mirror has contacted Smith’s Gloucester, which runs the waste management site, for comment.
