A “huge cordon” has been erected at the popular park as part of a police probe into an alleged rape which took place in the early hours of Christmas Eve
Police have locked down a busy park after a person was allegedly raped in the early hours of Christmas Eve.
The incident is said to have happened between 12.30am and 1am on Wednesday, December 24, in the Queen’s Park area of Glasgow southside.
Eyewitnesses report seeing a “huge cordon” erected at the popular park as part of a police probe. An eyewitness also reported seeing a large emergency services presence at the scene this afternoon. Police Scotland have confirmed the force is investigating a serious sexual assault, Glasgow Live reports.
A spokesperson said: “We are investigating a reported serious sexual assault in the Queen’s Park area of Glasgow, which is believed to have taken place between 12.30am and 1am on Wednesday, 24 December, 2025. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and there remains a police presence in the area.”
An eyewitness said earlier: “A huge area has been taped off and there is a large police presence in the Orchard area. There are multiple police vans at the entrance of the park.”
