A teenage girl was left with a broken wrist and whiplash-like injuries after a violent altercation in Bradley Stoke. Her mum says she’s now too frightened to return to school
A shocking video that has gone viral captures a vicious brawl between teenage girls, which one mother claims has left her daughter “scared to go to school”.
The violent confrontation erupted in Bradley Stoke on Tuesday, March 31. One of the girls’ mums said her daughter was left with a broken wrist and whiplash-like injuries as a result of the altercation.
“She’s scared to leave the house, she’s scared about her grades because she’s too scared to go to school,” the mum said. We have chosen not to identify any of the girls involved.

The clip, recorded outside a youth club and seen by Bristol Live, shows a girl (Girl A) being punched in the head by another (Girl B) while attempting to defend herself. A third teenager (Girl C), wearing a white t-shirt, retaliates by swinging at the initial aggressor, apparently coming to her friend’s aid.
A fourth girl (Girl D), clad in a black hoodie, then wades in, leaving Girl C surrounded by the pair. She tumbles to the ground, dragging Girl B down with her, as Girl D repeatedly strikes her on the head. An adult male is then seen attempting to intervene, while Girl D is heard hurling abuse at Girls A and C.
Girl C is seen walking away from the others, who pursue her around the corner of a building, continuing to shout expletives. The closing moments of the footage are somewhat unclear, but the adult man is seen stepping between the two girls as another scuffle breaks out. The mum said the other group had been hurling food and water at her daughter and her friend.
“One of the bullies punched her in the back of her head,” the mum said, explaining that her daughter then rang her and walked away. “That’s when one of the girls started attacking [Girl A]. Two jumped on her. [Girl A] got away and now it’s two on one.”
She said the girls were in tears and hysterical. They headed to a nearby leisure centre while the mum rushed out to reach her daughter.
“I was on the phone with [my daughter] when I got to the youth centre,” the mum explained. “I spoke to a random person who said they didn’t see anything happening.
“My daughter said ‘that’s them’ and they turned on me. They threatened me, saying they know where I live, they didn’t care.
“I was with [my daughter], her friend and a Year 7, trying the keep them safe. I knew I couldn’t walk away.” The mum added that the police turned up.
Her daughter and daughter’s friend experienced lasting consequences from the assault, the mum said. Girl A’s teeth were damaged, needing medical treatment, while Girl C has a broken wrist, multiple bruises and muscular injuries similar to whiplash.
“Her GCSEs are soon and she’s got to sit in the same room as her attackers,” the mum said. “This was the first time they went out together in a while. [Girl C] defended her friend. She will defend a stranger. She wears her heart on her sleeve, she’ll do anything for anyone.” She added: “I want it to stop. I want children to feel safe.”
The footage has been widely circulated on social media, racking up nearly 120,000 views.
The incident comes just a month after a teenage girl was set upon by a gang of boys and girls outside Zara in Cabot Circus. The victim’s mum, known only as Stacey, told BristolLive in March how her daughter was followed to the bus stop before being assaulted.
“Luckily, she wasn’t badly injured,” Stacey said. “She’s a bit bruised but there are no injuries. She had concussion and some bruising to her cheeks, a few heel marks on her legs. We’re very lucky.”
