Samsung’s flagship smartwatch has been cut in price

The newest range of smartwatches is hard to find on sale, but for Samsung fans on the hunt for a new wearable one new model is discounted in price. The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 is a top model to buy for those looking for advanced health tracking and a smoother experience.

Launched less than a year ago, it’s considered to be an all-around choice thanks to its upgraded AI features. Usually it’ll set shoppers back £349 (depending on the size and watch strap picks), but it’s currently on sale for £309.

This price is for the 44mm model, a slightly bigger screen than the more compact 40mm device. The Galaxy Watch8 is an ideal choice for Android users looking for a thinner and lighter device than previous models and to tap deeper into their own data.

A lot of this comes from its boosted AI thanks to an integration from Google Gemini and the One UI 8 software. Making voice-activated commands, tasks, and reminders a lot smoother.

While the higher-end sibling in Samsung’s 2025 fleet, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, is made from upgraded titanium, the actual core is the same. Both are fitted with the same processor, so their performance and AI features are identical. However, the sturdier Watch Ultra is a better fit for hardcore wearers as it offers more durability.

Samsung Galaxy Watch8

As one of Samsung’s newest smartwatches in its fleet, the Watch8 offers in-depth health tracking and taps into users’ sleep scores.

One thing to note about Amazon’s price, and while it beats Samsung’s current offer, it’s not the cheapest ever. Using price history tracker CamelCamelCamel, it shows this is the second cheapest ever price, as it has previously dropped to £259.99.

At Samsung, the model has a strong 4.7-star rating, with many users praising the device for its ‘insightful health apps’ and ‘brighter screen’. One wearer said: “The display is great, especially in high light and sunny conditions, you can clearly see the screen, images and text are sharp.”

However, the general downside mentioned was battery life. As one Samsung wearer explained: “The watch looks great and is comfortable to wear. Unless you switch off many of the features, the battery life is very short.”

Another wearer mentioned how they downsized from the Galaxy 6 Pro as it was ‘too bulky for them’ and raved about the functions of the Watch8, however, the battery life wasn’t as they expected. They said: “The only downside is that I am getting about 24 hours of battery life.

“I would have liked to get the full 30 hours. I have minimised the apps and functions that chew through battery but 24 is about the best I get.”

Another reviewer mentioned how it’s improved their rest and said: “Energy Score makes my health journey easy to follow. Advanced sleep guidance improves my sleep quality. Love the AGE score that is helping me in so many ways.”

In its official video, Samsung shares how wearers can use the Watch8 to ‘wake up fully recharged’ using the sleep features. Once paired with a user’s smartphone, it helps outline the optimal bedtime for each user.

Under the video posting, Samsung states: “Bedtime Guidance analyses your sleep data from the past three days and gives a smart nudge for your ideal bedtime, helping you form a better sleep routine. You can identify your sleep animal based on your sleep pattern, and get a tailored Sleep Coaching program to train your sleep.”

For a cheaper alternative, the rate for its sleep tracking, consumers could consider the Fitbit Versa 4. Priced at £144 it still gives wearers data on their REM, light, and deep sleep. Alternatively, for a more discreet fit Oura Ring is another option.

Instead of a wristable wearable, this is worn like a piece of jewellery and tracks sleep windows and even gives an analysis of the wearer’s blood oxygen overnight.
