A 19-year-old man was rushed to hospital after a stabbing at German Doner Kebab at the junction of Granby Street and Bishop Street in Leicester city centre at lunchtime
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after another teenager was stabbed at a German kebab shop.
Police have been investigating the stabbing of the teenager at a restaurant in Leicester city centre with a cordon outside. The victim was rushed to hospital and now police have said that a 16-year-old boy has been arrested.
Leicestershire Police said they were called to German Doner Kebab at the junction of Granby Street and Bishop Street shortly after 1pm on Thursday (January 15), where the 19-year-old victim was treated for stab wounds and taken to hospital.
A force spokesperson said: “A 16-year-old boy has been arrested as officers continue to investigate a stabbing in Leicester’s Granby Street yesterday. The boy, who was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of attempted murder, remains in custody.
“Police were called shortly after 1pm following a report a 19-year-old had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital by the East Midlands Ambulance Service, where he is in a stable condition and is continuing to receive treatment.
“We are continuing to appeal for anyone who can help police with their ongoing enquiries to get in touch. This includes anyone who is able to provide mobile phone, CCTV or dashcam footage.”
