For instance, B&Q sells a Herbs Buddy Self-Watering Planter Pot for £16.99 online. The product description states: “Herbs Buddy makes growing kitchen herbs effortless.
“Its clever tilt-to-refill water indicator and self-watering system ensure your basil and other herbs always get the perfect amount of moisture. Made from durable, UV-resistant, food-safe materials, this reusable pot is an eco-friendly choice designed in Austria and produced in the EU. Or, for £3, B&Q sells a Verve Plant Self-Watering ball. The product description reads: “Easily water your plants with this large 360ml Self Watering Verve irrigation ball. Ideal for people who travel frequently or simply forget to water their plants regularly.
“This self-watering ball has a long, thin neck that provides a slow and steady release of water to potted plants, making sure the tip is positioned near the plant’s roots but not touching them.”
Rating the product, a shopper said: “Useful product at a good price.” They explained: “Good price and work well. Quite large, which is good in terms of capacity and refilling frequency but, obtrusive aesthetically so using in outside pots but probably too intrusive for houseplants indoors.”
Someone else shared similar feedback. They wrote: “I bought this product a few months ago. It does the job well, but it is not very attractive. I have since bought decorative glass ones.”
