Fruehauf continues to reinforce its lead as the UK’s top tipping trailer manufacturer, securing a remarkable 39.4% share of new registrations in Q1 2025—nearly triple the 14.3% figure it achieved in 2021.
The figures, derived from national trailer registration statistics, underscore the company’s rapid acceleration in recent years. Much of this momentum stems from ongoing investment, a steadfast focus on build quality, and the trust of a loyal transport client base.
Yet the headline statistic is only part of the picture. When factoring in over 100 units sold in the Republic of Ireland over the past year—which aren’t reflected in UK data—Fruehauf’s true market share climbs closer to the 50% threshold, cementing its dominance in the bulk tipping segment.
Fruehauf CEO Tom O’Rourke commented: “We’re thrilled to announce that our market share has reached these impressive levels once again. This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire team and thanks to everyone involved. With exciting developments underway and partnership synergies between MV Commercial and Fruehauf just beginning to take shape, we’re confident in even greater growth ahead. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional value to our customers, as we continue to innovate, we’re eager to demonstrate what’s next for our industry.”
Key to this success has been enduring partnerships with leading operators such as Bulmans Bulk, Openfield, Lomas Distribution, Wykes Engineering, Strawsons, 3R Solutions, and Laws Transport—all of whom regularly choose Fruehauf trailers for their fleets.
With demand at an all-time high, Fruehauf is set to deliver nearly 700 trailers this year—further proof of the growing appeal of its British-made, high-performance offerings.
This upward trajectory is powered by significant upgrades at Fruehauf’s 67-acre Grantham site. Modernised assembly lines, enhanced automation, and increased production capacity have enabled the company to meet higher volumes with faster lead times and consistent build quality.
Fruehauf has also diversified its output, building 200 crane lorries and 50 drawbar trailers for parent company MV Commercial. Meanwhile, its newly introduced tipper Blower model—targeted primarily at the animal feed sector—will see 75 units rolled out in 2025.
The company’s progress has drawn industry-wide recognition. Commercial Motor recently spotlighted Fruehauf’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, its British engineering roots, and the strong team behind its growth story.
As competition across the sector intensifies, Fruehauf’s commitment to excellence, local manufacturing, and reliability continues to set it apart—and with its market share nearing 50%, the company looks poised for an even brighter future.
