Beatrice and Eugenie have been put in an impossible situation as more shocking details continue to emerge about their disgraced parents’ connections to Jeffrey Epstein
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have found themselves in an increasingly difficult position since the release of the latest Epstein files. The sisters’ lives have been completely upended thanks to their disgraced parents, who are being picked apart over their long-standing association with the convicted paedophile.
There are conflicting reports on how the Princesses are dealing with the fall-out. Following reports that Eugenie has completely cut ties with their father, Beatrice and her young daughter were seen accompanying Andrew on a horse ride prior to his eviction from Windsor.
The 37-year-old was said to be “trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the royal family “. However, it’s also been claimed that both sisters privately remain in touch with their parents.

Whatever the situation, Beatrice and Eugenie are said to feel ‘duped’ by their parents – in particular by their mother Sarah. The true depth of her friendship with Epstein has become increasingly apparent in recent days, dramatically exposing her claims she barely knew the financier. One major ‘body blow’ for her daughters was seeing just how far she would stoop for money, the Mail reports.
“That she blatantly lied to them – unlike their father, who made no secret of his past friendship with Epstein – has really caused family ructions and helps explain why Sarah has gone to ground,” a source told the publication.”There are a lot of questions she has to answer about her own behaviour and what exactly she knew about Andrew’s past with Epstein and Maxwell.”

A now-damning statement released by Sarah’s spokesperson in 2025 previously claimed: “The duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims. Like many people, she was taken in by his lies.
“As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia.”
However, the emails show Sarah maintained her friendship with Epstein even after he was convicted for soliciting sex from a minor. He was released from prison on 22 July 2009 after serving 13 months of an 18-month sentence, and there are emails in the files from that June and earlier in the July from “Sarah”.
They also reveal that Sarah flew to see Epstein at his home just five days after he was released from prison – and she took her daughters with her. At the time, Beatrice and Eugenie would have been 20 and 19 respectively.
In another humiliating email, Sarah refers to her youngest daughter’s sex life, telling the predator that she is “just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a sha**ing weekend!!”
She also thanks Epstein for “being the brother I have always wished for’, saying she has “never been more touched by a friends kindness” as she discusses business opportunities. It reads, in part: “In just one week, after your lunch, it seems the energy has lifted. I have never been more touched by a friends kindness than your compliment to me infront of my girls. Thank you Jeffrey for being the brother I have always wished for.”
Another email from “Sarah”, sent in 2010, even includes a plea for marriage – just nine months after his release from prison. “You are a legend. I really don’t have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness,” she writes. “Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.”
There are also requests for money. In March 2011, Sarah admitted borrowing £15,000 from Epstein, but in an interview with the Evening Standard she said she made a “terrible, terrible error of judgment”, adding: “I abhor paedophilia”.
Emails show, however, that the former Duchess repeatedly turned to Epstein for help as her business ventures failed. In one message from 2009 she told him: “I urgently need £20,000 for rent today. The landlord has threatened to go to the newspapers if I don’t pay. Any brainwaves?” Account transactions further show that Epstein transferred $150,000 (£109,000) to Fergie following a share sale, wiring the cash to the former Duchess.
Sarah’s whereabouts are currently unknown. The former Duchess is now essentially homeless following the King’s decision to evict Fergie and Andrew from Royal Lodge.
Sources told the Daily Mail that she has been slipping in and out of the 30-room mansion under-the-radar in recent weeks. Unlike her ex-husband who has still been parading around the grounds on his horse, Fergie reportedly snuck in secretly, and was “smuggled” in and out by car while “lying prone on the back seat”.
It’s suspected she has now fled abroad, with royal author Andrew Lownie – who wrote a blistering biography on the Yorks – telling the Mirror that Fergie makes a “habit” of catching a flight when the going gets tough. Suggested bolt holes include her favourite spa retreat in Thailand, the Caribbean island of Mustique, or Switzerland. When speculation arose that Sarah may be staying at Richard Brason’s Necker Island, his team issued a firm denial.
Recent reports have suggested that she’d like to stay in Windsor long term. But with an estimated net worth of just £752,000 according to Yahoo! Finance, Sarah will struggle to afford even a terraced house in the historic town, which sell for in excess of £800,000, never mind the kind of mansion she is used to.
It was initially thought she might move in with one of her daughters – but it remains to be seen whether their doors are still open following the latest revelations. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, who has known Fergie for years, told us: “Sarah has always been in many ways quite a likeable person, and I hesitate to criticise another mother’s parenting, but I do ask what kind of mother would take her daughters, then aged 19 and 20, to Miami to have lunch with a convicted paedophile. A man who had come out of jail for that very crime only five days earlier.
“It is beyond comprehension to me, and then she wrote to Epstein and joked about her younger daughter’s love life. Why would you do that? I think that’s deeply, deeply insensitive. So I think Sarah is not only going to have to question her reputation and the damage done to that, but the damage done to the relationship with her daughters as well.”
