The £2.99 Home Bargains item is designed to keep rooms clutter-free and maximise floor space
Home Bargains is stocking a budget-friendly item designed to banish clutter and free up valuable floor space in your home. Priced at just £2.99, it could easily be mistaken for a pricier alternative available at B&Q.
Millions of shoppers across the UK flock to Home Bargains for its wallet-friendly prices and impressive range of products, spanning homeware, garden supplies, beauty, food and toys. The much-loved retailer originated in Liverpool, founded by a 21-year-old Tom Morris in 1976 as a single store in the Old Swan area.
Home Bargains shoppers can pick up the store’s eight-litre Utility Over Door Bin online or at their nearest branch for just £2.99. Whether hanging over doors or mounted on walls, the handy bin cleverly reclaims precious floor space.
Home Bargains describes the bin as easy to clean and “space-saving”. It comes complete with an adhesive strip for wall mounting, as well as a hook for hanging from cupboard doors. Its “odour trapping lid” also promises to keep unpleasant smells firmly locked inside, reports the Liverpool Echo.
In the product description, Home Bargains says: “Meet the Utility Over Door Bin 8L, your new best mate for keeping spaces tidy! This sleek, space-saving bin hangs over doors, features an odour-trapping lid, and is a breeze to clean-perfect for kitchens and bathrooms alike!”

The Home Bargains £2.99 Utility Over Door Bin is comparable to B&Q’s Kitchen Bin 9L, which is marginally larger and retails at £24.99. B&Q says: “The cupboard door bin adopts a design with a lid, which is specially designed to be hidden and odourless, which can block unpleasant odours, fruit flies and messes.”
Much like Home Bargains, B&Q customers can hang it over doors or fix it directly to a wall. B&Q describes the bin as being crafted from high-quality PP+TPE material, which is “odourless, sturdy and durable”.
It adds: “The kitchen trash can can be used in various scenes, such as hidden kitchen cabinets, countertops, under the sink, bathroom, camping, office, bedroom, camper, etc.
