There are 14 countries on a “do not travel” list, including Israel and Russia, and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office also advises against travel to dozens of others
Brits must not travel to 14 countries, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has today warned.
Tourists and UK nationals in these nations should also leave immediately for their own safety. Israel and Russia are among the countries on the list, amid the disruption caused by the conflict in the Middle East.
There are a further 60 countries flagged as having no-go zones as the FCDO has advised against “all travel” and “all but essential travel” to these nations or parts of these nations, such as Spain, Finland, Germany and Poland.
The FCDO said: “Regional escalation poses significant security risks and has led to travel disruption. Stay away from areas around security or military facilities. Follow the instructions of the local authorities and monitor local and international media for the latest information.”

The 14 countries regarded as completely off limits for Brits relate to places in Europe, Africa and Asia. The situation is so bleak due to the conflict in the Middle East, amid which Keir Starmer has insisted the UK economy is well placed to weather the storm.
The PM said yesterday he would not allow Britain to be drawn into a wider war in the Middle East – but warned of uncertainty ahead. Ministers face calls to plan for further intervention to stave off “Trumpflation”.
While the impact has already been felt economically with fuel prices rocketing in the UK, travel continues to suffer too. The FCDO added: “Stay away from areas around security or military facilities. Follow the instructions of the local authorities and monitor local and international media for the latest information.”
As Birmingham Live reports, UK nationals in the following places should return to Great Britain and no one should visit from our nation. Authorities say, in each case, Brits are vulnerable to “heightened risks”.

The leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy and the UK have called for talks over the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the office of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Monday.
They said in a joint statement: “We are gravely concerned by the escalating violence in Lebanon and call for meaningful engagement by Israeli and Lebanese representatives to negotiate a sustainable political solution. We strongly support initiatives to facilitate talks and urge for immediate de-escalation.
“Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel and the targeting of civilians must cease, and they must disarm. We condemn Hezbollah’s decision to join Iran in hostilities, which further jeopardises regional peace and security.”
