The wearable blanket is nearly £30 cheaper than Oodie amid their huge Black Friday sale – and it will keep you cosy this winter
An online retailer has slashed the price of its wearable blankets by more than half in an early Black Friday sale. Online Home Shop has reduced its popular winter warmers from £17 to £7, making them almost £30 cheaper than Oodie’s current price drop.
The offer launched today (November 13), and with their new price, the blankets come in cheaper than a £9 pint in a West End boozer, three hours parking in Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre, also £9, and a bratwurst at Manchester’s Christmas Markets which are £8 in 2023.
While not specifically promoting a particular brand, last year on Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert website, one fan said she hadn’t used the heating since purchasing a hooded blanket, commenting: “Invested in an oversized hoodie blanket to snuggle up in, not used heating since.”
Our reviewer Narin Flanders said: “When writing reviews we’re always asked would we spend the money and buy the product ourselves. Not only did I do that in the first place, but I’d happily do so again.”
And shoppers on the Online Home Shop website have said similar. One happy customer hailed the OHS clothing as the ‘snuggliest hoodie EVER’ while another said it was ‘amazing for the price and means I can turn the heating right down’.
A third penned: “Thick fabric will keep me warm on the coldest day. Plenty of room for a bigger person.” Though some did mention the ‘stitching could be better’.
The £7 OHS hoodie blanket deal is available on four different designs, including the Sienna Supersoft Hoodie Blanket in Charcoal Grey, Blush Pink, Silver Grey and the Dreamscene Winter Check Sherpa Hoodie Blanket in grey. But shoppers will need to be quick to bag one, as the offer is only running until Thursday, November 30.
One of our reviewers, Laura McKenna, tried out the grey Sienna wearable blanket in the longer length, which is £9 in the sale. She said: “Made from 100% soft polyester I was worried that this hoodie would look cheap or feel flimsy, but it honestly felt just like a high-end dressing gown on the outside, and the Sherpa lining has a woolly softness that feels great against the skin.
“The long sleeves have elasticated cuffs which are a blessing when it comes to doing the housework, as they never get in the way or need to be pulled up, and the deep hood offers incredible warmth without feeling like you are suffocating in plushie softness.
“I was warm as toast with only my feet feeling a little chilly and calling out for slippers by the end of the day. Oversized but not annoyingly so, I was able to pretty much do everything I needed without it getting in the way, feeling restrictive or even worse, making me feel too hot.”
Ashley Furness, OHS Head of Buying, said: “Winter is coming but this early Black Friday deal for just £7 is an absolute bargain and helps save on your heating bills. You can snuggle in style and upgrade your relaxation game for the price of a London lager – and still have change.”
The deal comes shortly after popular hooded blanket brand Oodie launched a £1 Black Friday sale which saw 1,500 of its black wearable blankets sold in seconds online. Now, the store is selling some of their Oodies from £35.60, down from £89 for Black Friday.
There are plenty of other retailers selling their own hooded blankets this winter, including John Lewis’ sherpa-lined fleece hooded blanket, which comes in grey, black, blue, pink, purple and cream for £40. Meanwhile, Dunelm has an Oversized Teddy Blanket Hoodie for £16 and Amazon has a similar-looking version for £12.99 which comes in different colours.
Perfect for gifting or just for keeping warm this winter, bargain hunters can bag the OHS hoodie blanket for £7, here.
