The next instalment in the MonsterVerse has finally been unleashed, as Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is streaming now on Apple TV+. The new action-adventure series takes place in a world inhabited by cinema’s most iconic monsters, including Godzilla and King Kong.
The 10-part series – from Legendary Pictures’ TV arm – forms the latest chapter in the monster franchise that began with 2014’s Godzilla. Legacy of Monsters picks up in the wake of Gareth Edwards’ epic and the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that devastated San Francisco, revealing to the world that monsters are real.
The dramatic saga spans three generations and tracks two siblings who follow in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organisation known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and down a rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and more than half a century later when Monarch is threatened by what he knows.
