Four people have been arrested following reports of a shot fired, a stabbing and a fight in Gamesley, near Glossop, in Derbyshire
Four people have been arrested after reports of a fight and a gun being fired in a village street as chaos erupted on Christmas Day.
Officers were initially called out to reports that a man had been assaulted in Bradwell Lea, Gamesley, in Derbyshire, at about 4.20pm.
The man, who is in his late teens was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head and remains there in a serious condition. A second man, also aged in his late teens, attended Glossop Police Station shortly after the incident with stab wounds to his abdomen and was taken to hospital where he is condition is stable.
Derbyshire Police said CCTV from the scene shows what appears to be a firearm being discharged, however, there have been no gunshot injuries to either of the men that are in hospital and it is not believed that anyone has been injured by a firearm.
Four people – three men and a woman – have been arrested in connection with the incident after armed officers swooped on a property in Hollins Close, Gamesley. A police statement said: “£At this time, it is believed that all those involved in the incident have been detained.”
It added: “While the investigation is in its early stages it is believed that the victims and suspects are known to one another and there is no wider risk to the public from those involved.”
Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident – in particular anyone with CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage.
