If you have a spring event on the horizon, Vicky Pattison’s pale pink linen co-ord is the perfect does-it-all outfit that you can wear for everything from weddings to work

The sun is shining which means our social calendar is about to start filling up, but if you don’t know what to wear for your next big event, we might have just cracked it. Thanks to Vicky Pattison, we found this gorgeous pale pink co-ord at Marks & Spencer and it couldn’t be more perfect for any occasion you have coming up.

Vicky recently wore the Tailored Strappy Cropped Waistcoat with Linen and the matching Lyocell Rich Pleat Front Palazzo Trousers and we knew instantly it would be a hit for the spring and summer months. With the waistcoat priced at £36 and the trousers coming in at £46, you can get the complete look for £82, and the mix-and-match design means you’ll get countless wears out of it.

Vicky’s co-ord manages to strike just the right balance between formal and casual, which opens up plenty of styling opportunities in your wardrobe. As a complete set you could easily wear it to the office with loafers or trainers, or dress it up with some heels and a statement clutch for weddings, christenings or other formal events.

But you could also pair the Tailored Strappy Cropped Waistcoat with some jeans or denim shorts for a girls brunch, or wear it with a midi skirt if you want a breezy holiday look. Meanwhile the Pleat Front Palazzo Trousers would be great with a crisp white shirt at work, or with a slogan T-shirt and trainers for running errands.

The Cropped Waistcoat is made with an 85% lyocell, 15% linen blend which makes it lightweight and comfortable on warm days. It also has subtle tailoring and darts for a fitted silhouette.

Meanwhile the Pleat Front Palazzo Trousers have the same fabric composition, with wide, flowing legs and sharp pleats in the front which gives them a smart look that’s suitable for formal occasions. Both pieces come in a lovely pastel pink shade, and are available in sizes six to 24, with the trousers coming in petite, regular and long lengths.

The waistcoat currently has no reviews, but the trousers have four five star ones. One person wrote: “Blooming lovely these! Such a nice fit- fab quality but not too heavy. Perfect colour for spring/summer. Lots of compliments when worn!”

Another wrote: “Gorgeous summery colour and very stylish. Looks fabulous with the waistcoat.”

The only one that mentioned a downside was one who wrote: “Lovely wide leg trousers for the upcoming spring. I did size up as there is no give in the fabric and I have a bit of a meno belly.”

A breezy co-ord is a staple to have in your wardrobe, which is why we’ve been eyeing up several other sets on the high street at the moment. At Next, the Stripe Linen Blend Shell Top is a holiday essential at just £20, and you can buy matching trousers (£38), shorts (£24), or a maxi skirt (£55) to go with it.

Meanwhile Nobody’s Child’s Cream Linen-Blend Swing Top and matching White Linen-Blend Jerrow Wide Leg Trousers are both on sale when you use the code APRIL20 . You can’t beat a supermarket fashion buy, and Tu at Sainsbury’s Navy Pure Linen Co-ord Waistcoat and the co-ordinating Navy Pure Linen Palazzo Trousers are just £30 each and made from 100% linen, making them ideal for those hot, humid summer days.
