The company is rated ‘Great’ overall on Trustpilot

Managing accounts and finances can be difficult at the best of times, and that is why many sole traders and businesses are turning to technology solutions or AI tools to help. Currently, there’s one company offering a deal – and it is rated ‘Great’ overall on Trustpilot.

The company in question is Sage Accounting, and it is currently running a limited-time promotion where it is offering 90% off for the first six months, with the deal lasting until March 31. The company says prices start from £1.80 per month, excluding 20% VAT.

This ‘Start’ package is said to be for VAT-registered sole traders or small businesses just getting started. There’s also the ‘Standard’ package, which starts from £3.90 per month, and this is for small businesses working with suppliers, CIS, or with accrual accounting.

Finally, there’s the ‘Plus’ package from £5.90 per month, and this is for small businesses managing inventory or working in multiple currencies. Each package includes payroll and Sage Copilot, which is described as a ‘built-in admin-crushing assistant’.

Sage Accounting is an AI-powered cloud software solution that users can access online anywhere, anytime, according to its website. It’s great for managing a business’ accounting needs and staying on top of taxes, the company says, as it can automate and support the tricky, time-consuming admin involved in running a business, freeing up time for other tasks.

Sage is designed specifically for small business owners with up to 49 employees; VAT-registered sole traders, whether they have staff or not; or limited companies in any industry, from professional services to construction. The company says users can get paid quicker with trackable AI-personalised invoices, mobile checkout systems and insightful dashboards, as well as automate admin with AI-powered data capture for receipts and invoices to keep accurate digital records.

Users of Sage Accounting can also stay compliant with correct VAT calculations and submit year-end tax returns to HMRC hassle-free, the company says, or opt to pay and manage people faster as a business headcount grows, without having to purchase a separate payroll solution. Sage says everything is ‘easy to set up’ and no prior experience with this type of software is needed.

As an alternative, however, shoppers could try Trullion. This is described as an AI-powered accounting platform which automates financial workflows for accounting and audit teams.

Or there’s Digits, which is an ‘AI-native general ledger for business owners and accountants’. Its website says this offers one system for automated books, month-end close, bill pay, invoicing, and real-time financials.

Back to Sage Accounting, users have left an overall 3.9 out of five-star rating on Trustpilot, from more than 19,000 reviews. One said: “Sage operatives are always helpful in resolving any problems.”

While a second person said: “Matthew was extremely helpful and friendly. I’m new to using Sage so he was very patient with me.”

Others, however, left some feedback for the company, with one writing: “Had a lovely guy named Luke, very helpful, managed to correct my mistakes and give me advice about other subjects regarding Sage 50 payroll. There were a few issues which couldn’t be resolved but that’s to do with the program itself, which Luke is going to relate the problems back to the team to see if anything can be done about this. Overall very pleased with the service I’ve received today.”

Overall, though, most people were happy with their experience of Sage Accounting, as another person said: “We have recently purchased Sage and I cannot thank Claire Hewitt enough with all the help she has given me in helping set up the design forms, uploading stocks, configuring Excel worksheets – everything. Excellent commination from start to finish.”
