Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Aldi is treating shoppers to some new middle aisle SpecialBuys that promise to help set a romantic experience. From new cast iron cookware to satin nightwear and movie night kits, you’ll find everything you need for February 14th– and even better, it’s all affordable.
The hero of the new launches is the Cast Iron Valentine’s Day Assortment, £12.99, featuring a cupid-approved update for the month of love. Designed as a limited-edition version of the supermarket’s sell-out cast iron casserole dish, the oven-safe buy now comes in a heart-shaped design and a red or pink colourway.
If you’re into your kitchenware, you may have already spotted how similar this looks to a pricier buy: Le Creuset’s Heart Shaped Cast Iron Casserole Dish, £225. However, at £212 less than the designer dish, it’s definitely a more purse-friendly option (albeit slightly smaller in size). Still, if you’re looking to cook up some gooey brownies or give a soufflee a try, it’s the ideal buy to help you serve them.
Launching alongside the dish is a Satin Sleep Set for £9.99, which comes complete with long or short sleeve satin top, shortie bottoms and a matching eye mask. The supermarket compares the set to M&S’ Satin Lace Trim Shortie Set, £45, which comes in a similar light pink hue and satin material.
Princess Kate just wore an affordable new satin drape top that you can buy for Valentine’s Day
To go alongside your new PJs, Aldi is also dropping Movie Night Kits for £3.99. Each kit includes one popcorn bucket, a choice of two soda cups with straws or two champagne flutes, two snack cups and even a set of two movie tickets, all available in pink or red.
If you like the sound of anything above, you’ll be able to shop the Valentine’s Day-themed buys when they launch this coming Thursday, 29th January. As with all SpecialBuys, though, once they’ve sold out, they’ve sold out!
Elsewhere in Valentine’s news, high street favourite Marks & Spencer has launched a limited edition fragrance, and it’s already caught the attention of perfume lovers for its striking similarity to one of Jo Malone’s cult-favourite scents. The M&S fragrance is called Pear Blush Eau De Parfum, priced at £16 for 80ml, making it £80 less than Jo Malone’s English Pear and Freesia Cologne, which is £86.
Fresh, fruity and easily wearable, Pear Blush combines crisp pear notes with soft florals to create a smell that feels light, refreshing and effortlessly elegant. It’s the kind of scent that works just as well for everyday as it does for date nights.
