National Lottery advisor reveals worst mistakes winners make

A financial advisor dedicated to working with National Lottery winners had revealed what he believes to be the single biggest mistake people make when winning the jackpot.

Any Carter has been working with lottery winners for nearly two decades, counselling over 2,000 people who have received fortunes of over £50,000 through the popular game of chance.

He and a team of money savvy advisors – who are all banned from entering the lottery themselves – are on hand to coach people through the first few months after receiving their fortunes and beyond.

He said: “It’s a great job — you’re a part of someone’s life at a time which they’ll never forget”.

The 50-year-old has handled more than £2 billion over his long career, but admits that while wining the lottery usually makes people “happier”, they don’t always handle their new found wealth in the most sensible way.
