The ex-Duchess of York, 66, launched winding-up orders for companies registered in her name amid the fallout from the release of the Epstein Files. It was also revealed that the former Duchess’ jewellery brand Ginger and Moss Ltd is continuing to trade but is, as of January, £321,419 in the red. “It’s a bonfire of Fergie’s vanities,” Royal commentator Margarent Holder said, reports The Sun.
Fergie had launched the businesses years before her continued friendship and correspondence with Epstein was known. But the release of Epstein Files documents revealed the pair continued to be chummy with one another even after Epstein was convicted of child sex offences in 2008.
Among the millions of documents released by the US Department of Justice include are communications between the pair. In one, Fergie came across as desperate in pleading emails to the convicted paedophile, begging him for help.
It showed her telling the late billionaire she “desperately” needed cash and also that she could even work for him. “But why, I don’t understand, don’t you just get me to be your House Assistant,” she said, in the email dated May, 2010. “I am the most capable and desperately need the money. Please Jeffrey think about it.”
Later that same year, Fergie asked when Epstein would employ her. She added: “My friendship is steadfast to the end, even after the body is cold. Love you now and always. And I know you do too.”
The email was sent after Epstein admitted to having procured a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute. He was later sentenced to 18 months in jail.
It was claimed that while Epstein was on house arrest following his arrest, that Fergie travelled to his home while accompanied by his daughters. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie would have been 20 and 19, respectively.
In a January 2010 message, Sarah appeared to fawn over Epstein, adding: “You are a legend. I really don’t have the words to describe my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.”
