Shoppers can grab a bargain deal with the £20 lookalike option

B&M is selling a £20 drinks trolley that could easily rival a similar version available at John Lewis for £100s more. The budget option at the affordable high street store means shoppers can get a similar ‘elegant’ look in their home for far less.

B&M’s Karina Bailey Round Gold Drinks Trolley costs £20 and could be easily mistaken for John Lewis’ West Elm Albee Bar Cart Antique Brass, which costs £349. By opting for B&M’s less expensive lookalike version, customers can save £329, without compromising too much on style.

In the product description of the B&M drinks trolley, the store says: “Entertain your guests in style with this Karina Bailey Round Gold Drinks Trolley. This stunning piece combines elegance with functionality.”

B&M adds: “It is perfect for serving cocktails or showcasing your favourite spirits. Features a luxurious gold finish to add a touch of glamour to any setting.”

While the two drinks trolleys look similar at a glance, there are still a few differences, besides price. B&M’s version is 37.5cm wide, 37.5 deep and 62cm, whereas John Lewis’ one is 53cm tall, 69cm deep and 80cm tall, making it bigger, with extra surface area to hold more items.

In the product description on John Lewis’ website, it states: “Inspired by Art Deco design with a slim metal frame, this bar cart has two open shelves to display spirits, mixers and barware. Set on wheels so it can move with the party.

“Two open shelves. Versatile design: the minimal metal frame has an airy yet elegant look that fits in anywhere. Features a sleek Antique Brass finish on a mild steel frame and a bottom mirrored shelf to reflect light up.”

B&M says drinks trolleys not only look great, but they are also easy to move, making them ideal for hosting parties. They let guests help themselves, which means fewer trips to the kitchen. They can also be used as a centrepiece, or as moving side tables, dessert areas, and coffee stations.

The drinks trolley isn’t the only ‘bargain’ piece of furniture at B&M that could rival John Lewis. The store is also selling a ‘stylish’ lamp priced at £6 that closely resembles a £160 John Lewis version.

Among its latest range is the Mini Ribbed Lamp, which comes in four colours. On its website, B&M claims the “practical and stylish” £6 lamp will “illuminate your space”. The lamp resembles a John Lewis version, priced at £160. The retailer’s Country Rib Table Lamp comes in two colours: cream or myrtle green.
