EasyJet flight EJU7357 was bound for Glasgow Airport when the disruption occurred

An easyJet flight heading to Glasgow has been forced to make an unscheduled landing in Liverpool. Flight EJU7357 took off from Palma de Mallorca Airport shortly after 6.40pm on Sunday, May 31, destined for Glasgow Airport.

The Airbus A319 was scheduled to touch down in Scotland at approximately 8.45pm, but was diverted to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. easyJet has issued an apology to affected passengers following the diversion, describing the incident as “outside of our control”, reports the Daily Record.

In an online message to passengers, easyJet said: “We’re very sorry that your flight will be diverting to Liverpool.

“We apologise for the inconvenience. We plan to continue your journey to Glasgow as soon as possible.

“The disruption to your flight is outside of our control and is considered to be an extraordinary circumstance.

“We plan to refuel and continue your flight as soon as possible. Your crew will keep you up to date.”

Earlier this week, easyJet flight U251 from the Isle of Man to Liverpool was forced to declare the mid-air emergency and divert to Manchester Airport following an aborted landing sequence. The flight was reported to have safely touched down at Manchester at 4.05pm on May 24.
