Budget airline easyJet is giving away free Greggs sausage rolls on flights today to celebrate the opening of its new base in Newcastle.

The popular pastry comes paired with limited-edition “Destination Dipping Sauces” inspired by holiday hotspots, with unusual flavour combinations such as Sangria, Tarte Tatin, Harissa Ketchup, Kebab and Affogato.

Travellers flying from Newcastle Airport with easyJet will be treated to the free food onboard their flight today only. easyJet cabin crew will also be giving away free Greggs in Newcastle city centre until March 25.

Greggs will be served from a limited-edition easyJet trolley service at some of North East’s most famous landmarks including the Tyne Bridge, St James’ Park and the Angel of the North.

The new easyJet base in Newcastle will operate 122 flights per week and adds 14 new routes across Europe and North Africa.

New routes taking off from today include flights to Antalya, Corfu, Dalaman, Enfidha, Faro, Lisbon, Malta, Nice, Prague, Reus, Rhodes, Rome, Sharm-El-Sheikh, and Tenerife.
