Millions rely on DWP benefits including State Pension, PIP, Universal Credit and Attendance Allowance with new rates running from this week
Millions rely on state benefits to manage their household finances – whether through pensions, disability support or supplementary income assistance. February 2025 figures showed roughly 24 million people were receiving some form of DWP benefit, with 13.2 million at State Pension age and 10 million of working age.
Benefits range from the State Pension and Attendance Allowance to Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. Every April, these sums typically adjust according to proposals regularly outlined in the annual Budget set by the government.
The DWP will implement the new rates from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027. Below is a comprehensive breakdown allowing you to check what you’ll be entitled to.
The amounts shown are weekly unless stated otherwise. These represent standard rates and some categories include extra elements payable based on individual circumstances – further details can be found here.
