Brits have said that the ‘strong’ and ‘stylish’ case was great for those taking long holidays or quick city breaks
As summer approaches, many people will be jetting off for some much-needed rest and relaxation. But if you’ve not been away for a while, it might be time to upgrade your tired and worn-out suitcases with this “perfect” option sold by Dunelm.
The store’s Elements Hard Shell Suitcase has been a huge hit with shoppers who say its ideal for city breaks. Prices vary depending on your chosen case size, for example, the Cabin Case costs £30, while bigger sizes cost £35 (medium) £40 (large), and £50 (extra large).
Certain colours are unavailable in specific sizes, so it’s best to check for the size you need before getting too attached. Plenty gave rave reviews about this practical suitcase, claiming it fits a surprising amount for something so compact.

Dunelm’s website reads: “Going away for the weekend or hoping to catch some sun elsewhere? Then this is the key item you need to store your clothes and other bits and bobs in. Available in a range of sizes and colours, this suitcase has been designed using strong hard shell which has been placed on four spinner wheels, making rolling your suitcase around easy.”
It adds: “Finished with two sturdy handles to make carrying more comfortable and a zip insert with an elastic clip closure to hold your clothes in place.” Over 140 shoppers shared their opinions online after purchasing and using the cases for themselves.
One said: “I love this suitcase. It’s an original colour that will stand out in the airport. It’s easy to recognise and a good size, too!” Another added: “I bought for a short city break to Italy soon. Perfect size and nice stylish design.”
A third wrote: “I got a small, medium, and large last year and have just bought another large one. Good sturdy case in a nice range of colours to choose from. The mesh part stops clothes from moving around.”
Someone else put in their review: “We bought two of these suitcases for a recent city break and they are fantastic! Very sturdy, with a zipped compartment one side and strapped compartment the other side. We managed to fit clothes and shoes for three days for two adults and a child, alongside a few cuddly toys (and a pillow for my little one) into one suitcase alone! The wheels are very smooth and rolled over concrete and more bumpy terrain with ease.”
But, not everyone was happy. One claimed the case “did not feel very well built”, writing that their case had “weak zips” and a “loose and wobbly” extendable handle. Another warned: “You get what you pay for I guess. First trip used on a plane and the corner got dented in and won’t pop back out. All the wheels squeak badly, and the internal pockets zip sometimes just come apart. Looks good, but that’s the only plus from my experience.”
If your luggage needs a refresh ahead of the holiday season, there are plenty of places to grab an affordable suitcase. At Debenhams, there’s an option for extremely light travellers with the £30 Cabin Max Anode Underseat Cabin Suitcase With Shoulder Strap. Matching luggage is available in bigger sizes at an increased cost.
And, Argos is selling a wide range of options. You can order what is claimed to be the ‘World’s Lightest’ 4 Wheel Soft Cabin Suitcase by IT Luggage for £33.75, down from £45.
