Customers say the compact heating device quickly warms up small spaces and take the chill away quickly

Brits have been turning to more affordable methods to keep their homes warm this winter as Ofgem’s price cap rises. Plenty of Dunelm shoppers have found ways to keep themselves comfortable without having to fork out for high heating costs.

With the energy price cap rising from today (October 1), many people in the UK will be thinking about how they’re going to afford their energy bills. Some households have been struggling to make ends meet and prices are set to stay high this winter as more people try to counter the cold weather.

Thankfully, there are some affordable solutions that don’t force you to turn on your heating. One such item is Dunelm’s Small Olive Square Heater that costs £30 and has a running cost of about 33p per hour.

Dunelm makes a promise that this 1500W heater will help customers “keep warm this winter”. It’s been designed especially for smaller spaces, therefore “making it perfect for those who like to keep their feet warm whilst working from home”.

It comes with a power indicator light to show when it is on and an adjustable thermostat. This means it can be adjusted to blow out the “perfect temperature for you”.

Some have snapped up the heater just as the weather already starts to turn cold, with worse potentially on the way as snow is predicted to hit parts of the UK this month. Shoppers also love that the “retro looking” heater is such a unique colour that proves to be both “stylish” as well as functional.

Dunelm’s Small Olive Square Heater has been flooded with lots of positive reviews, as one buyer said it was “such a lovely small heater”. They added: “Just tried it one day and it heats the room well.”

They continued: “I ordered it in summer because every time I want to order it in winter goes out of stock. Can’t wait to get it out in winter!”

Another shared: “We picked it up when our boiler stopped working suddenly in November and this served us nicely for a few days while it was being replaced. You can very quickly notice the difference in a small to medium room with a door closed.”

A third said: “Heats up my bedroom really quickly! At least for my room, it honestly gets things really toasty in like an hour and a half. One thing to keep in mind though is that it’s a fan heater, so it does make a fan noise. It’s pretty monotone and you can tune it out after a bit.”

However, not every shopper was happy with their purchase. One customer claimed the handle was “slippery to hold”, whilst another said it was “a shame it only comes in one colour”.

Elsewhere, there are plenty of other options to choose from if you are keen to invest in a new heater this autumn. Shoppers can pick up a similar sized heater with the Rainberg Fan Heater from Amazon for £13.49. Also, Argos is selling a Challenge 2kW Flat Fan Heater for £25.
