The garden seat has proven popular with shoppers – especially when it is available at a major discount
Dunelm shoppers have said that a bold and bright garden chair is “super comfy” for relaxing outside during the summer months. Some have gotten so cosy in the now-discounted seat that they have fallen asleep.
The Santorini Egg Chair is on offer for £124.50, down from its usual price tag of £249, making it half price. Dunelm claims that the chair “makes a bold statement” with its “vibrant, contrasting colours and a unique rattan weave” that stands out in almost any garden.
The website adds that this hanging egg chair features a “sturdy, powder-coated steel frame and weather-resistant design.” The eye-catching chair is available in two colours – Ashley Blue or Ginger (Orange). A green (Jade Mist) version is listed, but the website claims it is out of stock and cannot be ordered.

Dunelm’s ‘most comfortable’ £14 garden chair ‘looks good’ and ‘great’ for guests
There are similar deals on egg chairs to get for the garden and enjoy some British sunshine like The Range’s Outsunny Hanging Egg Chair for £149.99. For those who aren’t looking for a hanging version, Argos sells this Kora Rattan Effect Garden Egg Chair for £200 or this GoodHome Omalos Beige Rattan effect Egg chair at B&Q for £220.
But, the Dunelm deal has proven popular with shoppers across the UK, with dozens of glowing reviews from people who have gotten so comfortable in them it has put them to sleep. One said: “Great egg chair especially as I got it for half price! I could sit in it all day and have even fallen asleep in it!”
Another added: “Gorgeous chair! Super comfy and super easy to put together!” A third wrote: “Absolutely love this chair. The quality is very good. It was easy to put together took my son around 30 minutes. It’s very comfortable with its thick padded cushion.”
Another shopper said: “I have been wanting to buy one of these for a while and I have no regrets. The design is really pretty and it’s so comfy and relaxing.” However, not all feedback was positive as someone else claimed: “The nuts and bolts are of such poor quality that they have cross-thread or snap. I had to spend my own money in Wickes to get decent bolts.”
Another customer posted: “Putting it together was a nightmare, took 4 hours and I’m not even sure the bolts are secure as the thread has worn! So praying it withstands our weight.”
But, most of the reviews were from people who had a positive experience with the chair. A fifth person wrote: “Comfy and easy to set up, fits perfectly into the garden, beautiful colours too!”
And, one more person put: “Really lovely chair, looks great in the garden. So comfortable. I put it together by myself, just needed help hanging the chair at the end.”
The chair is not available for click and collect at Dunelm stores. Instead, people will have to arrange for delivery (which comes with an added £9.95 fee). At the time of writing (July 31), Dunelm claims the earliest this could arrive at someone’s home is August 4 but a convenient date can be chosen at checkout.
